Trust is considered as an important process in establishing positive patient-professional relationships and healthcare outcomes. While many studies denote the mutualreciprocal nature of trust, there is a strong tendency to consider professionals merely as trustees. This article presents a review of literature addressing healthcare professionals' trust in patients, aiming to identify and compare more theoretical and more empirical contributions on the topic as a basis for developing a research agenda. We examine 31 theoretical and empirical peer-reviewed articles that address healthcare professionals' trust in patients, either as the primary or secondary focus. We found that healthcare professionals' trust in patients is still overlooked in empirical trust studies into healthcare, despite several theoretical and review articles emphasising the relevance of the topic. We propose that future empirical research considers professionals' uncertainties and vulnerabilities, and that theoretical studies reflect more on methodological approaches for researching their conceptualisations. Moreover, our findings suggest that while system-based understandings have been seen as important for considering how patients trust in their healthcare, we argue that This is an open access article under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial License, which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited and is not used for commercial purposes.

Suffering and Illness of the Sellers of a Construction Material CompanyABSTRACT -This study investigated pleasure and suffering of the sellers of a construction material company using the approach of psychodynamic of work. Pleasure consists of professional experience achievement and freedom of speech. Suffering refers, on the other hand, to emotional exhaustion and lack of recognition. During suffering experiences, it is possible to identify defensive, compensational and subjective mobilization strategies. In this study, collective semi-structured interviews were conducted with two groups of seven sellers each. After that, the interviews were submitted to a thematic categorical content analysis. The results pointed out that the categories were "resentment", "pressure at work", "tiredness", "ambiguity in the relationship with their bosses", "fear" and "distrust". Based on the resulting categories, it is possible to identify the prevalence of suffering at work related to the pressure, the overload and the lack of freedom to speak about the work. The defensive strategies applied by the sellers, however, have not been enough to protect them from mental and physics illness. This study is concluded with some recommendations to the company and suggestions of new studies. Keywords: psychodynamic of work; pleasure-suffering; construction material sellers.
Background: Outsourced work has considerably increased in Brazil, being currently seen as one of the main approaches to reduce the expenses of companies. However, the recognition given to outsourced workers does not match their relevance for the organizations that employ them. According to "work psychodynamics" theory, recognition is a symbolic reward for physical, cognitive and affective investment; personal identity is shaped through the mediation of recognition. Objective: The aim of the present study was to analyze employee recognition among IT outsourced workers at a public institution. Methods: Three sessions of collective interviews were conducted, lasting two hours each. The data were analyzed by means of discourse interpretation and were categorized according to the following criteria: work organization, experiences of pleasure and suffering and dynamics of recognition. Results: Outsourced workers feel they are recognized by their peers and system users as a function of the visibility and usefulness of their activity. However, they do not feel appreciated by formally employed colleagues, namely, their bosses. These results corroborate some studies on socioeconomic fragility and precariousness conducted with outsourced workers. Conclusions: Despite the lack of visibility of their work for a part of their colleagues, outsourced workers feel they are appreciated. The present study contributes to the advancement of research on work psychodynamics, as well as to overall considerations on management models and attitudes relative to the status of outsourcing within the public service setting. Keywords | work; outsourcing; occupational health; job satisfaction; work conditions. Segundo a psicodinâmica do trabalho, reconhecimento é a retribuição simbólica do investimento físico, cognitivo e afetivo. O estudo contribui p...

This theoretical paper depicts the clinics of work as a subdisciplinary and interdisciplinary field of the social psychology of work and organizations, interested in analyzing and intervening from a critical-clinical perspective in the subjectivity-work-context relationship, in the context of discomfort, suffering, and pleasure, and thus, in the mental health within this field. Consequently, it separates from traditional occupational health, which ignores subjective singularities. The subdiscipline of clinics of work develops the determinants of pleasure, discomfort, and suffering at work, standing out in the process as a possible alternative of occupational health, based on research practice and intervention from a critical perspective.
