O Paraná é o maior produtor de energia elétrica do Brasil, quase totalmente originada por hidroelétricas e que corresponde a 96% do total gerado no estado. Entretanto, o aproveitamento desta fonte está em declínio em função dos impactos ambientais e devido à pressão da sociedade com relação as questões sociais e econômicas ocasionadas. A publicação da Resolução 482/2012 da ANEEL (Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica) e após a sua revisão através da Resolução 687/2015 que regulamenta a microgeração e minigeração, se tornou possível utilizar os sistemas fotovoltaicos conectados à rede (SFVCR) de forma a complementar a matriz elétrica brasileira em grandes empreendimentos e na forma de geração distribuída (GD). Entretanto para desenvolver projetos de qualidade nesta área, é necessário que se conheça com o maior grau de precisão possível o potencial solar da região. O objetivo deste trabalho é o de apresentar os principais resultados obtidos com a elaboração do Atlas de Energia Solar do Estado do Paraná, resultado da parceria entre a Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR), o Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) e a Itaipu Binacional através do Parque Tecnológico Itaipu (PTI) e do Centro Internacional de Hidroinformática (CIH). Os produtos voltados à energia solar no Paraná foram desenvolvidos pelo INPE por meio do Laboratório de Modelagem e Estudos de Recursos Renováveis de Energia (INPE/LABREN) com o apoio da UTFPR por meio do Laboratório de Energia Solar (UTFPR/LABENS), atuando na validação e interpretação dos dados, fazendo uso do modelo de transferência radiativa BRASIL-SR e das informações obtidas para o Paraná no âmbito do projeto do Atlas Brasileiro de Energia Solar - 2a edição. Os resultados obtidos neste trabalho mostram o excelente potencial de radiação solar e fotovoltaico no Estado do Paraná, superior a muitos países europeus onde esta fonte de energia renovável já está bastante disseminada.
Detecção e classificação de interrupções na Internet é um tema amplamente estudado. Entretanto, apesar de existir diversas técnicas e estudos para detecção de interrupções, essa não é realizada com foco nas interrupções para o cliente final da Internet. Apresentamos uma avaliação sistemática das interrupções da Internet a partir de dados históricos de um sistema de monitoração da Internet, o RIPE Atlas. Os resultados mostram que os parâmetros geoeconômicos utilizados nesta pesquisa têm pouca correlação com a quantidade de interrupções na Internet. Contudo, observamos que existem diferenças na duração e frequência de interrupções com a localização das sondas. Mostramos que um modelo simples de interrupções pode ser utilizado, como no caso do Furacão Harvey, para identificar problemas na rede. Identificamos um incremento de 10% na quantidade de interrupções e de 44% no tempo das interrupções no período do furacão na região de Houston, Texas. Os resultados podem ser utilizados no futuro como substrato para o desenvolvimento de novos preditores de interrupções.
