ABSTRACTThis paper comprises a revision article with the objective of seeking converging points between active teaching methodologies and other, acclaimed approaches within the scope of teacher practice (re)significance. To do so, a bibliographical study was made of the main theoretical approaches aimed at teaching and learning processes,
Abstract:The purpose of this article is to present the contributions by licentiate courses from a Higher Education Institution (HEI) located in Rio Grande do Sul/BR towards the preparation of its alumni 1 Mestre em Ensino e docente da rede pública e privada de Ensino. 73regarding the use of teaching strategies guided by active methodologies. The theoretical referential is anchored on early teacher training (NÓVOA, 2009;TARDIF, 2012) and the autonomous character that provides an approach with active teaching methodologies (BERBEL, 2011;FREIRE, 2015). The study follows a quantitative approach and employs a questionnaire applied to the undergraduates from four licentiate courses at the HEI being investigated as a data collection instrument. From the results, it becomes evident that the Pedagogy course stood out as the one that most frequently offers pedagogical practices guided by active methodologies, though the other ones also offer such methodology. The History course appears as the one in which expository, teacher centered lectures are highlighted. The Languages and Physical Education courses develop sometimes traditional, sometimes active pedagogical practices.
