Mobile-government (m-government) is the initial stage of the development of the futuristic trends of the e-government. There are several features of advanced technologies of mobile platforms, including smartphone applications, internet facilities; integrated personal computer platforms are promising developments for incorporation into various socioeconomic systems. In the same purview, the growth of the technology of m-government has been tremendous. An evolution of the practice of m-government can lead to excellent communication patterns between the government and the voting population. The current study evaluates the various features of m-government, its implementation, the process of general incorporation into the system of governance. This study focuses on the generic challenges surrounding the application of m-governments across different locations in the world, its relevance to the citizens, as well as reviewing the potential requirements and possible challenges in its implementation. This current study reviews existing literature to understand the various benefits of the technology of m-government with the primary focus of this study is to determine the methods of enhancement of government information regardless of the time and location. A detailed review of existing literature pertinent to m-government and compiles the findings on the definition, usability, challenges, and implementation of m-government was conducted. Findings suggest a need for the development of a model for technical, political and social assessment of user intent for adoption for mobile services in particular. It effectively establishes a relationship between various drivers of m-government and user acceptance.
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT), especially the Internet, revolution has dramatically changed how citizens can interact with their government. E-government, that is utilising ICT to change and/or improve the relationship between government, citizens, businesses and other government entities (World Bank 2007), has become a popular focus of government efforts in many developed and developing countries. Jordan is one such developing country that has embarked on an e-government initiative. Progress to-date comprises the provision of a few key services for citizens and the interconnection of a subset of government departments. Existing empirical research on e-government has been undertaken principally within western developed countries. Of those studies that have focused on e-government implementation within developing countries, a few have identified one or more factors that play a part in the progress or otherwise of an e-government capability. Whilst useful as a combined list of possible factors to bear in mind, these studies have been based on "one-off" snapshot analyses of the situations found within the countries being studied. There is no indication as to whether the existence and predominance of such factors vary over time, and the nature of that variation. This paper presents some preliminarily results of one and half year investigation to explore the factors that effect E-government implementation within Jordan. It starts with a brief overview of e-government in general, and provides some background information on Jordan in general and the ICT sector within Jordan in particular. Data from the first two cycles of fieldwork which were completed by the author are presented, the analysis of which was based upon Strauss & Corbin's variant of the Grounded Theory method (Strauss & Corbin, 1990). Even from these preliminary results, it is clear that there are differing levels of dynamism and characteristics that the factors identified as effecting the e-government implementation within Jordan possess. The value of this paper lies in the fact that it is one of only a handful of papers that focus on issues affecting egovernment implementation specifically in Jordan. Furthermore, it uniquely views the influencing factors from a dynamic rather than static perspective.
The hotel industry is critical in developing the economy. Moreover, it is the largest and most rapidly growing industry in Jordan. Employee satisfaction is a crucial element for the success of any organization, particularly in the hotel industry. Therefore, this study aims to examine the influence of human resource management (HRM) practices since these constructs could influence different outcomes at the workplace, such as employee satisfaction, service quality, and employee service behavior in the hotel industry. The study has undertaken five primary HRM practices – recruitment, capability, compensation, performance appraisal, and training and development (T&D) – to measure their impact on employee satisfaction, service quality, and employee service behavior. Data were collected from 290 employees and 290 customers of Jordan’s hotels across all categories in the four main tourist attractions: Amman, Petra, Aqaba, and the Dead Sea. A quantitative approach was employed using various statistical tools such as mean, tabulation of data, correlation, and ANOVA by SPSS software. The results indicated that HRM practices positively affect service quality, employee service behavior, and employee satisfaction. It was also found that when employees in Jordan’s hotel industry demonstrate excellent service behavior, the customer perceptions of service quality increase. Finally, effective human resource management strategy systematically organizes all individual human resource management measures to directly influence employee satisfaction, service behavior, and service quality in a way that leads hotels to achieve organizational success.
Information technology over the last two decades has been discerned as an emerging technology by affecting our personal, social, and public life. Thereby, the technology has made a notable impact on the quality of life. Management Information System collects data from various online systems, thus, analyzing the information, and further reporting the data to aid in management decision making. This study primarily explores and highlights the management information system using block chain technology in an e-commerce enterprise. The paper thereby presents a systematic review based on several studies in the literature. A systematic review of management and business process journals is performed using the keywords related to the topic. Thereby, the study finds that MIS using the block chain technology is easily acceptable in an e-commerce. Various advantages associated with the MIS are compiled from related studies in the literature. The results obtained from the assessment are gathered in an organized way and subsequently concluded in order to understand the principle functioning of the management information system using blockchain technology in an e-commerce enterprise.
