The main objective of this paper is to analyze extremes UV episodes in Northeast of Brazil (NEB), generally associated to cloud cover and levels of total ozone column (total ozone). The methodology consisted of the calculation of the 95th percentile to define the extreme value in the seasons of UV in city of Natal-RN (reference city) and analysis of NEB obtained from Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) to UV index, total ozone and cloud cover in dates of extreme events in reference city. The results of UV index for Natal city indicated 14.4 for the extreme event in summer and images selected of OMI showed that extreme event were associated mainly with absence of cloudiness and levels below average annual of total ozone. Analysis of extreme episodes of UV index in NEB indicated that the extreme event occurred in reference city does not happen in the entire region, because of the large spatial variability of cloud cover and total ozone.
Palavras-chave: imputação múltipla, MICE, dados ausentes, Método da Média Preditiva Abstract This research deals with the multiple imputation of missing data of Geopotential Height Anomaly Correlation at 500 hPa. The multiple imputation was reached by using the Predictive Mean Matching (PMM) method. Outcome showed that multiple imputation (PMM) resulted in an acceptable (> 0.99) between original data serie and reconstructed data serie, for every weather prediction period considered.

The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of Total Ozone and Aerosols about variability of Ultraviolet Radiation (UV) in the east coast of the Northeastern region of Brazil through measures from multispectral sensor GUV (Ground-based Ultraviolet Radiometer). The methodology consisted of descriptive study and cluster analyses using data of UV in channels UVB (305 nm) and UVA (320 nm, 340 nm and 380 nm) and data of UV index, Total Ozone, Aerosol, Global Solar Radiation, Cloudiness and Wind. The results for city of Natal indicated that an annual event occurs in September/October which stabilizes the UV or UV Index when Total Ozone levels reach their annual maximum. This event is influenced by marine Aerosol that is found on mainland at a higher concentration in September due to greater Wind intensity and their southeasterly direction (sea for land). The cluster analysis using the variables above allowed us to detect three different groups: the first group is formed by Natal, Recife and João Pessoa and so determined that this event occurs in these three cities; the second group is formed by Maceió, Aracaju and Salvador and the third group includes only Fortaleza and had different results.
AbstractThe homogenization is a procedure to improve the quality of data. In climatology, homogenization examines and adjusts temporal biases of climatic variables, caused by non-climatic factors. The objective of this study was to homogenize the data mean air temperature (Tma) applying the method ACMANT (Adapted Caussinus-Mestre Algorithm for homogenising Networks of Temperature series) and study trends of Tma in Aracaju-SE. ACMANT is a fully automatic in Fortran code that uses multiple relative time series for homogenization. The ACMANT is a further development of the Caussinus-Mestre method, that is one of the most effective tool among the known homogenising methods. The methodology of this study used ACMANTv1.2 version and monthly data of Tma for the period 1961-2012 and eight nearby cities obtained in Meteorological Database for Education and Research (BDMEP), the Climate Standard of the National Institute of Meteorology of Brazil (INMET) and application and Mann-Kendall test for non-parametric analysis of trend in the study of Tmaseries. In the series of original data existed 23.7% missing value that were filled by the method. The results the Mann-Kendall test, after the homogenization process, showed trends significant (p-value<5%) of elevated to Tma for the period with an increase of 0.5°C over the last decade (2000)(2001)(2002)(2003)(2004)(2005)(2006)(2007)(2008)(2009)(2010) in reference to Climate Standard INMET of 26°C.
