Точки совпадения отображений Z^-пространств Изучается множество точек совпадений однозначных и многозначных ото бражений Zp-пространств в полиэдры и компакты. Приводятся оценки раз мерности. Для отображений в евклидово пространство доказана гипотеза Коэна-Ласка для любого числа совпадений, кроме трех. Библиография: 70 наименований. §1. Введение В работе [48] X. Хопф доказал следующую теорему. ТЕОРЕМА 1.1. Для любого т существует отображение стандартной (2т-1)-мерной сферы в т-мерный стягиваемый полиэдр, не склеивающее антиподов, т. е. отображение, принимающее различные значения на любой паре антиподалъных (центрально симметричных) точек; в качестве тако го полиэдра можно взять т-ю декартову степень триода (триод-конус над тремя точками). В этой же работе X. Хопф поставил вопрос о справедливости следующего ут верждения. ТЕОРЕМА 1.2. При п ^ 2т любое отображение /: S n-)• Р ш в т-мерный полиэдр Р ш склеивает некоторую пару антиподов. Заметим, что при п > 2т это утверждение сразу следует из теоремы Борсука-Улама и того простого факта, что компактный ттг-мерный полиэдр вкладыва ется в R 2m+1. В работе [24] Е. В. Щепин, не зная о статье [48], переоткрыл теорему 1.1 Хопфа, построив то же самое, что и в [48], отображение. Кроме того, Е. В. Щепин в упомя нутой работе доказал теорему 1.2 и тем самым дал положительный ответ на вопрос Хопфа. Теорема 1.1, а также теорема 1.2 для нульгомотопного отображения были неза висимо и одновременно с Е. В. Щепиным доказаны М. И. Стесиным [19]. В работах Е. В. Щепина и М. И. Стесина приведенные результаты применялись для оценива ния поперечников сфер и шаров. Отметим, что М. И. Стесин построил другой при мер не склеивающего антиподов отображения (2т-1)-мерной сферы в ттг-мерный стягиваемый полиэдр. Позже теорема 1.1 была еще раз доказана в [61], а затем еще раз в [51]; примеры отображений из [61] и [51], а также из работы [25] по существу основаны на одной и той же идее (отображения отличаются от построенных в [48], [24], [19]).
