<span>The study discussed the urgency of character education in East Lombok elementary schools based on Sasak ethnic local wisdom. This study used descriptive qualitative research methods to describe the phenomena of educational activities, learning, and curriculum implementation related to character education based on local wisdom of the Sasak ethnic group in East Lombok elementary schools. Data were collected by using interview techniques, group observation, and documentation. Data analysis was organized into some categories, describing it into units, synthesizing, arranging into patterns, interpreting, and making conclusions. The main problem faced in the implementation of character education in East Lombok elementary school is the absence of a character education model that is appropriate or methodologically adequate for learning process, it is individually developed continuously. The richness and diversity of Sasak culture with the values of local wisdom has potential to be integrated holistically into the curriculum both in co-curricular, intra-curricular and extra-curricular aspects, and even has the leverage to become the basis for character education. So that character education in East Lombok elementary schools based on Sasak ethnic local wisdom is very urgent to be implemented.</span>
Realitas toleransi sebagai fakta sosial tidak akan memadai apabila dipotret hanya dari satu sisi yang tidak mampu mengungkap makna di balik fakta, karena toleransi tidak hanya berdimensi emik, tetapi juga berdimensi etik. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan dan menjelaskan indeks toleransi antarumat beragama di Kabupaten Lombok Timur menurut perspektif fakta sosial sesuai kondisi sekarang. Penelitian ini meggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif metode survey. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik angket tertutup dan teknik focus group discussion (FGD). Analisis data menggunakan metode statistik deskriptif dan teknik analisis domain. Indeks toleransi antarumat beragama di Kabupaten Lombok Timur secara keseluruhan termasuk kategori tinggi dengan skor rata-rata 3.79. Dari dimensi emik, toleransi antarumat beragama masyarakat Lombok Timur yang tinggi merupakan fakta sosial yang nyata. Perbedaan indeks toleransi antarumat beragama antara hasil survey Puslitbang Bimas Agama dan Layanan Keagamaan Badan Litbang dan Diklat Kementerian Agama pada tahun 2019 dengan hasil penelitian penulis, disebabkan oleh adanya redaksi pertanyaan atau pernyataan dalam angket yang menyinggung aspek-aspek ibadah (mengutamakan dimensi emik). Sedangkan pada penelitian yang penulis lakukan berusaha untuk menghindari pertanyaan atau pernyataan yang menjurus dan mengarahkan responden kepada pemahaman dan praktik ibadah masing-masing agama (menyeimbangkan dimensi emik dengan dimensi etik). Dari perspektif fakta sosial, hasil penelitian ini memotret lebih komprehensif tentang toleransi sebagai suatu realitas sosial yang dinamis, dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan zaman dan perubahan sosial, tidak hanya berdimensi emik, tetapi juga berdimensi etik.
Tuan Guru Umar Kelayu (TGU) was one of the pioneers and a central figure born in the era of the teacher-teaching of the Sasak-Lombok community. The purpose of this study is to analyze the monotheistic view of TGU as the central figure of Lombok clerics in the study of intellectual history. The research method used is the historical method, which is a process of critically analyzing records and experiences or relics of the past. The results showed that TGU as a teacher early generation was born from a family that has a breed very strong with the Islamic Selaparang Kingdom by mastering religious knowledge broadly and deeply which was obtained from scholars in Lombok, the archipelago, and the world. The wisdom of TGU is reflected in the book of monotheism written at the age of ± 25 years, with the title Manzarul Amrad. The systematic thinking, perspective, and narrative style are unique in writing the book of monotheism that distinguishes it from other scholars. The monotheistic view of TGU has an impact on strengthening Islam, especially strengthening the faith of the Sasak-Islamic community. Instilling the spirit of jihad fi sabilillah, the Sasak people fought against the Balinese and Dutch rulers. TGU is involved in the dialectic of Islamic intellectuals through a network of teachers, friends, and students in Lombok, the archipelago, and even the Islamic world.Tuan Guru Umar Kelayu (TGU) merupakan salah seorang perintis dan tokoh sentral kelahiran era ke-tuan guru-an masyarakat Sasak-Lombok. Tujuan penelitian menganalisis pandangan tauhid TGU sebagai tokoh sentral ulama Lombok dalam kajian sejarah intelektual. Metode penelitian yang digunakan metode sejarah, yaitu suatu proses menganalisis secara kritis rekaman dan pengalaman atau peninggalan masa lampau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan TGU sebagai tuan guru generasi awal terlahir dari keluarga yang memiliki trah sangat kuat dengan Kerajaan Selaparang Islam dengan menguasai ilmu agama secara luas dan mendalam yang diperoleh dari para ulama di Lombok, Nusantara, dan dunia. Kealiman TGU tercermin dari kitab tauhid ditulis pada usia ±25 tahun, dengan judul Manzarul Amrad. Sistematika berpikir, cara pandang, dan gaya narasi merupakan keunikan dalam menulis kitab tauhid yang membedakannya dengan ulama-ulama lain. Pandangan tauhid TGU berdampak terhadap penguatan keislaman terutama peneguhan akidah masyarakat Islam-Sasak. Menanamkan semangat jihad fi sabilillah rakyat Sasak melakukan perlawanan pada penguasa Bali dan Belanda. This article discusses the Sasak people’s resistance against MataramKarangasem and Dutch colonial rulers in the 19th century in Lombok, Indonesia. It particularly focuses on Tuan Guru Umar Kelayu and his central role in the emergence of Sasak people’s resistance which transformed into Sasak physical revolution local and global imperialismcolonialism. Using the historical method, this article collected data through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis involved the historical methods of heuristics, verification or criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The findings show that Sasak people’s resistance was not only caused by economic factors but also related to other factors such as social, cultural, and religious ones. Tuan Guru Umar Kelayu played a key role in the Sasak people’s resistance in that it was under his leadership and influence that the resistance transformed into a physical struggle against MataramKarangasem and Dutch colonialism as seen in Sakra War and Praya War which were led by his students and friends.
The development technologi information and comunication is what brings the most significant changes in social life. The purpose of this research is to determine the implications or effects caused by technology media on the social life of the community in the village of Aikmel, Aikmel District East Lombok Regency. Based on the results of the research, concluded that the wider of the reach of the community in obtaining information and expanding the association, so there are also shifts that occur and affect the character and culture of the community itself, such as ways of communicating where people prefer to communicate through the social media rather than to meet directly with the interlocutor, the people's lifestyles tend to be hedon or happy to show off their ownership both in real life and virtual life, ways of dressing are more likely to imitate the outside cultures.
