In this report, the piezoelectric, dielectric and ferroelectric characteristics of 0.76Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 (BNT)–0.24SrTiO3 (ST) with niobium (Nb) (Nb-added BNT–24ST) ceramics synthesized by using a solid-state reaction are described.
Background: Nursing is a profession that is concerned with maintaining and promoting the health and well-being of patients. Many occupational health problems arise due to workload in the clinical setting. Among these occupational health problems low back pain is a major problem. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the Knowledge, Attitude, and Perception of low back pain exercise among nurses at a clinical setting in a public tertiary hospital in Lahore, Pakistan. Method: This study was, descriptive cross-sectional conducted at the Departments of Jinnah hospital Lahore. The population of this study was registered nurses of Jinnah hospital Lahore. Conclusion: Low back pain is a crucial problem among nurses but nurses’ knowledge regarding low back pain exercise is slight. Still, there is no prevention and active treatment to address this serious issue. A comprehensive treatment policy, as well as low back pain exercise, should be included for the treatment of low back pain. Keywords: Knowledge, Attitude, Perception, Low back pain exercise
Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) based intervention on resilience and burnout variables among staff nurses working in critical care department of the healthcare setting. Background: In the healthcare setting, emergency department is extremely risky unit where atmosphere frequently becomes unpredictable. In this environment emergency staff nurses most of the time taking persistent stress effect on mental well-being which lead to exhaustion. In critical care department’s nurses have potentially affected by anxiety due to stressful environment and workload which is the leading factor of negative outcome and result in burnout. Cognitive behavior therapy-based intervention (CBT) is one of the effective intervention to decrease self-reported burnout, as well as increased resilience Methods: A convenient sampling technique was performed collecting the demographic data and information during the face to face interview of 50 working nurse’s staff. The educational interventions, consisted of 08 manualized weekly 60-minute sessions. Data were collected at baseline and after intervention that measured stress, depressive symptoms, anxiety, healthy lifestyle beliefs and behaviors, and job satisfaction. Simple descriptive, paired sample T-test and Wilcoxon signed Rank test was applied for data analysis. Results: The intervention group scored significantly better with moderate to large positive effects on the burnout and resilience variables as well as healthy lifestyle behaviors after the 08 weeks of interventional sessions. Conclusions: The CBT including direct educational sessions has excellent potential as evidence-based interventions for improving the mental health, healthy lifestyle beliefs and behaviors related to job satisfaction in working staff nurses of emergency department. Nurses are the leading healthcare professionals that play a vital role in providing health care facilities based on research findings for positive patient outcomes. The application of research findings is compulsory in nursing practice but considerable amount of barriers could hinder nurses to implement research outcomes in practice. Therefore, to boost research utilization and change current nursing practices the current study observed the obstacles to utilization of research findings in clinical practices within the nursing culture of Pakistan. A descriptive cross sectional study including 76 nurses from Pakistan through convenient sampling technique was conducted. Out of 76 nurses, 69 (87%) were females and 7 (9%) were male nurses working in medicine, surgery, medical specialty, and critical care departments. Majority of the participants belong to age 31-35 years (50%) and 25-30 years (30%) while remaining 20% from age group 36-50 years. The top four barriers were “Inadequate time to implement new ideas”, “non-cooperation of colleagues”, “The unwillingness of nurses to accept change”, “and “Research articles are not published fast”. Conclusion: The results of the present study highlight the main barriers to research utilization among Pakistani nurses. Most of the barriers experienced by Pakistani nurses are related to those explored by other countries’ nurses. Keywords: Research utilization, Perceived barriers, Nurses, Nursing practice
Background: Hemodialysis patients experienced a number of issues that led to early session termination, decreased waste removal, and ultimately decreased dialysis effectiveness. The dialysis unit's nursing staff struggles to care for these patients. An updated practice guideline is needed to provide the proper interventions to lower complications and improve patient outcomes. Long-term maintenance hemodialysis has also changed the way that patients with end-stage renal failure are treated, reducing the risk of death. Objective: To assess the effect of guidelines based practice on dialysis complications in patients on permanent hemodialysis. Methodology: A single group quasi experimental conducted in Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore Punjab Pakistan from 1 June to 15 August 2022, data was collected Through the use of a self-structured tool from 30 people receiving hemodialysis for at least six months. The validity and reliability of the tool were initially assessed. A systematic instruction workshop was offered to care providers following the pre data, and the previously described criteria were reassess. Result: According to this study, there were 60% men and 40% female, had age between 30 to 39 (43.3%) and mostly 70% belong to urban area. The McNemar test evaluated the reduction between the pre- and post-dialysis fatigue, headache, vomiting, nausea, breathlessness and cramps with statistical significance (P<0.05). Practical implication: Patients receiving hemodialysis must need a complete nursing care in order to reduce dialysis induced complications. Conclusion: The significant reduction of dialysis complication after conducted dialysis on guideline base; it is recommended that dialysis be performed in accordance with the most recent clinical guidelines to improve hemodialysis procedures and boost hemodialysis efficacy.
