This research aimed to prove that laboratory activity based inquiry could improve scientific literacy skills of high school student, namely content, context, process, and science attitude aspect in a voltaic cell lesson. The research design used in this research was counterbalanced design. This research used scientific literacy based inquiry instruction for experiment class and inquiry based instruction for control class. Scientific literacy test, enquette, observation sheet, and interview guide were used as instruments in the research, while student worksheet was used as guidance of instruction.
The aim of this study was to determine the influence of guided inquiry learning model toward the improvement of students"s scientific literacy in integrated science learning on environmental conservation concept based on local wisdom of Baduy"s society. This study used Research and Development method through pretest and posttest test before and after the guided inquiry learning was done. The objects of this study were 31 students who were following the integrated science lecture in 5 th semester which is prospective science teacher. The results showed that there was an improvement in students' scientific literacy after guided inquiry learning (was applied) as shown with a gain value of 0.16 (N-Gain = 0.16) which was included in the medium category. Based on this result, it can be concluded that there is the influence of guided inquiry learning model toward the improvement of students"s scientific literacy in integrated science learning on environmental conservation concept based on local wisdom of Baduy"s society.
This research aims to explore information about the profile of the ability of logical thinking of high school students and its effect on student achievement on three levels of representation of chemical dynamics material. This research uses a non-experimental as research design in form of survey. This research involving 242 persons of 11 grade high school students at Ketapang Regency, West Borneo Province. Sampling is done by purposive sampling as a sampling method. There are two instruments in this research, first is Test of Logical Thinking and second is Test of three levels of representations that including 25 multiple choice tests which consist of three levels of representations such as macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic levels. The material raised in this test is chemical dynamics material, including the concepts of reaction rates and chemical equilibrium. The research results is based on the statistically tested findings using the Pearson correlation test, it was found that logical thinking ability had a significant effect on macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic with correlation coefficients of 0.352, 0.684, and 0.564, and significance values is less than 5% each of them.
This study aims to determine the relationship between the ability to think logically with basic chemistry student ability. The research sample as many as 33 students majoring in science education, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Sampling using purposive sampling method. The design study is correlational research design with survey as a research method. The instrument used in this study is the Test of Logical Thinking (TOLT). The results showed a correlation between the score TOLT with a score of Basic Chemistry 1 at 0.359. Then, the correlation between TOLT score with Basic Chemistry 2 at 0.415.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran POE berpendekatan STEAM terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Materi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah sistem ekskresi pada manusia. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode eksperimen. Model pembelajaran POE terdiri dari 3 tahap yaitu prediksi, observasi dan penjelasan. Pendekatan yang dilakukan pada pembelajaran menggunakan STEAM yang meliputi pengetahuan, teknologi, teknik, seni dan matematika. Populasi penelitian adalah kelas VIII MTs Al Karimi 1 Gresik tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang divalidasi mendapat nilai lebih dari 0.75 dengan kategori sangat valid. Respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran POE berpendekatan STEAM memperoleh persentase rata-rata 91,84% yang dikategorikan sangat baik . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai pre test 61.63 pada kelas ekperimen dan 61.67 pada kelas kontrol. Sedangkan pada saat post test kelas eksperimen mendapat nilai 86.58 dan kelas kontrol 76.33. Kesimpulannya bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran POE berpendekatan STEAM terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Kata kunci: POE, STEAM, Berpikir kritis
