RESUMOOs diferentes sistemas de preparo provocam alterações nas propriedades químicas, físicas e biológicas do solo, podendo requerer modificações no manejo e nas recomendações de adubação e calagem. Este trabalho avaliou os efeitos dos sistemas de preparo sobre as propriedades químicas e físicas do solo, em um experimento instalado em 1985. A área experimental vem sendo cultivada com culturas anuais em seis sistemas de preparo: semeadura direta (SD), arado de discos (AD), arado de aivecas (AA), grade pesada (GP), grade pesada + arado de discos (GP + AD) e grade pesada + arado de aivecas (GP + AA). O delineamento utilizado foi de blocos completos casualizados, com quatro repetições. As amostragens foram realizadas após a cultura do milho (safra 2001/02), nas profundidades de 0-5, 5-10 e 10-20 cm. As amostras de solo foram submetidas às análises químicas e físicas e as médias comparadas pelo teste de Tukey. Os sistemas de preparo influíram nas propriedades químicas e físicas do solo, com a maior parte das diferenças ocorrendo entre a SD e os demais sistemas. A densidade do solo foi superior na SD, em relação à dos demais tratamentos. Houve incremento nos valores de MO, pH, CTC efetiva, Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ , K e P, na camada superficial da SD, em relação às demais profundidades. A semeadura direta apresentou valores de Al 3+ inferiores aos dos demais tratamentos, na camada de 0-5 cm de profundidade, e superiores aos dos tratamentos AD, GP e GP + AA, na camada de 10-20 cm. Os tratamentos AD, GP, GP + AD e GP + AA apresentaram valores de K superiores aos dos tratamentos SD e AA, na camada de 0-5 cm de profundidade. O tratamento SD apresentou teores de P disponível superiores aos dos demais tratamentos, na camada de 0-5 cm de profundidade e na média das três profundidades.

High irradiance promotes decreases in the quantum yield in plants, which reduce the photosynthetic rate. The excess of light in combination with water deficit can intensify the response of plants to stress, especially in species susceptible to those factors. The aim of the present study was to characterize the photosynthetic activity of young jatobá-do-cerrado (Hymenaea stigonocarpa Mart. ex Hayne) trees under different irradiance conditions, both alone and/or in combination with water deficit. Four irradiances [45, 230, 510, and 1,700 μmol(photon) m -2 s -1 ] and two levels of water in soil (90% and 50% of field capacity) were used. Gas exchange, water potential, and chlorophyll a fluorescence were measured. The highest rates of photosynthesis were observed under irradiances of 230 and 510 μmol(photon) m -2 s -1 . Irradiance of 1,700 μmol(photon) m -2 s -1 led to the photoinhibition of photosynthesis, as indicated by a reduced maximum quantum yield of PSII, effective quantum yield ratio, and electron transport rate, as well as higher nonphotochemical quenching. The most stressful to young H. stigonocarpa plants was high irradiance, while water deficit did not intensify the response to light stress.

RESUMO -Objetivou-se neste trabalho avaliar o efeito do glyphosate, em aplicação sequencial, e da sua interação com endossulfan + tebuconazole na colonização micorrízica, na nodulação e nos teores de fósforo e nitrogênio foliar em plantas de soja. O experimento foi conduzido a campo em Argissolo Vermelho-Amarelo câmbico, no ano agrícola de 2007/08. Foram avaliados dez tratamentos em em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, no delineamento de blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Nas parcelas, avaliou-se o efeito da aplicação ou não da mistura de inseticida (endossulfan) + fungicida (tebuconazole) e, nas subparcelas, o efeito dos métodos de controle de plantas daninhas (testemunha não capinada, testemunha capinada, aplicação única de glyphosate, aplicação sequencial de glyphosate e aplicação única de fomesafen + fluazifop-p-butil). A matéria seca de nódulos (MSN) e da parte aérea (MSPA), o número de nódulos (NN), a colonização micorrízica e os teores de N e P foliar foram avaliados quando as plantas de soja atingiram o estádio R 2 . O glyphosate e fomesafen + fluazifop-p-butil não reduziram a MSN de plantas de soja, exceto na presença de endossulfan + tebuconazole. O glyphosate em aplicação sequencial, na ausência de endossulfan + tebuconazole, reduziu o NN das plantas de soja em relação às plantas tratadas com inseticida + fungicida. A mistura fomesafen + fluazifop-p-butil e o glyphosate em aplicação sequencial afetaram negativamente os teores de N foliar em relação à testemunha capinada na ausência de endossulfan + tebuconazole, enquanto que na presença dessa mistura não se observou efeito. O glyphosate não afetou a colonização micorrízica em soja tratada ou não com a mistura endossulfan + tebuconazole. Já a mistura de fomesafen + fluazifop-p-butil estimulou a colonização micorrízica na ausência da mistura endossulfan + tebuconazole. -Growth regulators can be used to further retard or inhibit vegetative growth. In this sense, the objective of this study was to determine the effects of age and number of trinexapac-ethyl applications on the growth and yield of sugarcane. The experiment was in a randomized complete block design with four replications. The treatments were in a 3 x 2 + 2 factorial arrangement, where factor A corresponded to the application times of the plant growth regulator (120, 200 and 240 days after bud burst (DAB) of sugarcane) and factor B to the number of applications (one or two applications). In addition, two controls (one with three applications and another application without the regulator) were added. The application of trinexapac-ethyl decreased the number and the distance between buds, height, root volume and sugarcane yield. The sequential application (2 or 3 times) induced an increase in stem diameter and three applications of the product increased the number of plant tillers. The use of growth regulators applied at 240 DAB has reduced plant height, however without changing the number of buds. It can be concluded that trinexapac-ethyl changes sugarcane growth and yield, regardless of season and number of applications.Keywords: growth regulator, application timing, number of applications. Neste sentido, o objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar os efeitos de épocas e número de aplicações do trinexapac-ethyl sobre o crescimento e a produtividade da cana-de-açúcar. O experimento foi delineado em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram arranjados em esquema fatorial (3 x 2 + 2); o fator A correspondeu às épocas de aplicação do regulador vegetal (120, 200 e 240 dias após a brotação das gemas (DAB) da cana-de-açúcar), e o fator B, ao número de aplicações (uma ou duas). -Inadequate herbicide application can result in failures in weed control and/or poisoning of the crops, resulting in yield losses. In this research were assessed the effects of the sprayer nozzle boom height in the distribution of the spray solution for weed control, influencing intoxication of beans and crop yield. Experiments were conducted in laboratory and field conditions. In laboratory, the performance of flat spray tip TT 11002 was assessed at heights 0.20, 0.30, 0.40 and 0.50 meters with respect to the target surface. In the field the same heights were assessed in applications of herbicides fomesafen, fluazifop-P-butyl and fomesafen + fluazifop-P-butyl. There was an inverse relationship between the height of the spray boom and the coefficients of variation of the patterns. The mixture better efficiency in a tank of fluazifop-P-butyl + fomesafen was obtained with the height of 0.50 m from the target. This treatment resulted in better weed control, lower poisoning of the bean plants and better crop yield rates. Sortion-desorption behavior of imazethapyr and imazapic on six brazilian soilsABSTRACT -The characterization of sorption-desorption for imazethapyr and imazapic in six agricultural soils was performed to assess the availability of these herbicides in pollution processes. In this pursuit, the batch equilibrium method and high-performance liquid chromatography were used. The magnitude of K f values ranging from 0.38 to 2.52 mg 1-n kg -1 L n for imazethapyr and 0.43 to 2.72 mg 1-n kg -1 L n for imazapic indicate weak sorption in the evaluated soils. Soil pH (5.1 to 6.1) and iron oxalate affect sorption-desorption of both herbicides but the type and percentage of clay can be the main factor affecting these two processes. A high desorption percentage (>70%) was found in Regosol, Dystric Plinthosol, Ferralsol (for both herbicides), and Dystric Gleysol (only imazapic) soils, which implies in leaching risks of these imidazolinone herbicides into groundwater. Lower desorption (<50%) was found in Cambisol and Alisol (for both herbicides), and (~50%) in Dystric Gleysol (only imazethapyr) soils, indicating that these herbicides could potentially injure the sensitive crops grown in rotation.Keywords: herbicides, imidazolinone, pollution, batch equilibrium. RESUMO -A caracterização da sorção-dessorção do imazethapyr e do imazapicfoi realizada em seis solos agrícolas para avaliação da disponibilidade desses herbicidas nos processos de poluição. Neste propósito, foram utilizados o método de equilíbrio em batelada e a cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência. A magnitude dos valores de K f , que variaram entre 0,38 e 2,52 mg 1-n kg -1 L n para o imazethapyr e entre 0,43 e 2,72 mg 1-n kg -1 L n para o imazapic indicam uma sorção fraca nos solos avaliados. O pH do solo (5,1-6,1) e o oxalato de ferro afetam a sorçãodessorção de ambos os herbicidas, mas o tipo e a percentagem de argila podem ser os principais fatores que afetam esses dois processos. Alta percentagem de dessorção (>70%) foi encontrada nos solos Entissolo, Plintossolo Distrófico, Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo (para ambos os herbicidas) e Gleissolo Distrófico (somente imazapic), o que implica em riscos de lixiviação desses herbicidas imidazolinonas para águas subterrâneas. A dessorção mais baixa (<50%) foi observada no Cambissolo Húmico e no Argissolo Vermelho (para ambos os herbicidas) e (~50%) no Gleissolo Distrófico (apenas imazethapyr), o que indica que esses herbicidas poderiam potencialmente causar danos às culturas de rotação sensíveis.Palavras-chave: herbicidas, imidazolinonas, poluição, equilíbrio em batelada.
