The melastoma malabathricum linn leaves have known chemical contents, namely flavonoids, tannins, saponins, glycosides, and steroids or triterpenoids (Mittal, 2010;Maigoda et al, 2019) Melastoma malabathricum linn or senduduk leaves is a herbaceous plant of the Melastomataceae family and herbal plants widely used in traditional medicine to treat inflamed wounds. The leaf extract has antibacterial activity isolated from different clinical wounds against S.aureus and P.aeruginosa and gave MICs ranging from 3.0 mg/ml for 3 of the 4 clinical strains of S. aureus to 8.0 mg/ml for all 3 strains of S. aureus, and strains of P. aeruginosa were tested.…”
