Technisches und reduziertes Nickel‐Pulver werden in einer Schwingmühle behandelt und zeigen danach starke katalytische Aktivität. Als Testreaktion diente die Benzol‐Hydrierung. Der Festkörperzustand dieser mechanisch aktivierten Kontakte wird durch Oberflächenbestimmung sowie durch röntgenographische, magnetische und kinetische Messungen untersucht. Durch Vergleich der katalytischen Aktivität mit der Oberflächengröße bzw. dem Gitterzustand ergibt sich aus den kinetischen Meßdaten, daß die katalytische Aktivität vor allem vom Ordnungszustand des Gitters dieser Kontakte abhängt.
