Resumo Recentes pesquisas da nova era do planejamento estratégico (PE) destacam a sua capacidade ambivalente de racionalidade prescritiva como forma de orquestrar a criação de estratégias emergentes e flexíveis para enfrentar os desafios da turbulência ambiental. Contudo, há um número limitado de pesquisas sobre como essa capacidade pode ser desenvolvida e, ainda menos, sobre o papel das práticas do PE habilitadas pelo strategic information systems (SIS). Investigou-se sobre a lente da teoria da Contingência e da Prática, como o SIS habilita a efetividade do PE na dimensão da prática sobre a influência da incerteza ambiental. Utilizou-se da técnica estatística de PLS-PM com uma amostra de 139 empresas. O estudo confirmou que o SIS habilita a efetividade do PE em todas as suas fases sobre a influência dos diferentes níveis de contingência de dinamismo, heterogeneidade e hostilidade. Resultados a partir do estudo pós-análise: (a) o SIS demonstrou maior poder preditivo na formulação e no controle da estratégia e da menor ênfase para executá-la; (b) o SIS apresentou maior influência da efetividade do PE em ambientes de alta heterogeneidade; (c) as empresas mostraram maior ênfase para controlar e formular do que para executar a estratégia. O estudo contribuiu para compreensão da criação de valor do SIS na abordagem da estratégia-como-prática frente aos desafios da incerteza ambiental.

Purpose Instigated by the trend of collaborative economics, taking into consideration the particularities pointed out by Simis (2015), such as a new social, economic and technological scenario, this paper aims to identify which factors serve as motivators for collaboration among the technologies of this scenario. Design/methodology/approach In this paper, the authors analyzed Waze, an application that works based on traffic information made available by the users of the platform. For the development of this qualitative work, aspects that served as the basis for the interview script applied were classified into three different categories: utilization, personal values and gamification; the latter being an important aspect for collaboration in the application in question. Two distinct groups were interviewed; one of regular users of Waze, and the other of advanced users, who also work voluntarily in the maintenance of the app. Findings The results indicate that personal values are determinant factors for both groups; however, there are distinct incentives for the different users interviewed, like reciprocity, altruism and empathy. The first one is an important aspect to share information by the regular users, while the other ones are characteristics advanced users. Research limitations/implications The study presents some limitations in terms of the restricted group and focus on only one of the many collaborative technological social, as well as lacking on-site analysis of the use of Waze. Practical implications This is a valid research when taking into consideration studies that approach the app Waze, as the issues explored in this paper are new in the academic studies considering previous app’s analyses that are related to functionality. Social implications The results presented in this study help to understand the current relationship between sharing economy and the technology provided to those who use these platforms. Originality/value This research opens the horizon for future studies applied on other collaborative technological user platforms, to see if the results would be similar and construct a user journey in relation to information sharing through experimental monitoring.

Gestão de valor em projetos de TI: um estudo sobre organizações no Brasil

Resumo Atualmente, admite-se a insuficiência da avaliação de projetos baseada em restrições de escopo, prazo e custo para assegurar a criação de valor pela organização. Apesar disto, essa métrica continua sendo, muitas vezes, a única utilizada para avaliar o sucesso dos projetos. Neste artigo, a partir de referências teóricas, analisa-se como algumas empresas nacionais e multinacionais gerenciam a criação de valor por suas carteiras de projetos de Tecnologia da Informação (TI). Busca-se entender os processos utilizados, bem como identificar os principais desafios encontrados pelas organizações pesquisadas. Para atingir esse objetivo, foi utilizada uma abordagem exploratória qualitativa baseada em entrevistas semiestruturadas com gestores de portfólios de TI de 14 organizações brasileiras de diversos segmentos e portes. A pesquisa indicou oportunidades de melhoria e mostrou que poucas são as organizações que avaliam de forma efetiva a criação de valor por seus projetos, prevalecendo uma visão de desempenho não alinhada aos resultados corporativos alcançados e que não colabora com o processo de melhoria e aprendizagem organizacional.
