Abstract: This was a systematic review of studies on the reliability and validity of self-report instruments for measuring physical activity, or subjective measurements, in adolescents (10-18 years). Searches were conducted in databases (MEDLINE, PsycInfo, SportsDiscus, Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, Lilacs) IntroduçãoHá um crescente reconhecimento da importân-cia da avaliação do nível de prática de atividade física em estudos epidemiológicos 1,2 . Show more

“…The QAFA reproducibility was 0.73 for continuous (minutes / week) and 0.58 for categorized measurement (physically inactive vs. physically active). These values are in agreement with those recommended in literature for physical activity measurements 7,8 . Helmerhorst et al 20 analyzed questionnaires to measure physical activity in adolescents in the last seven days or week and verified that the reproducibility ranged from 0.58 to 0.92, and in only two instruments, it was higher than 0.70.…”

“…Several physical activity questionnaires for adolescents have been produced and tested in the last 20 years [4][5][6] . Nevertheless, no improvement in their reproducibility and validity levels have been observed 7,8 . Data from systematic reviews have shown that most questionnaires available to measure physical activity in adolescents do not allow estimating the level of physical activity according to recommendations 7,8 ; were tested on non-representative samples 8 ; did not use objective measures as a reference criterion in validation 8 ; presented low methodological quality 7 , but above all, did not have their psychometric properties evaluated in more than one population and in studies with good methodological quality 7 .…”

“…In the childhood and adolescence specialty, for example, EBP ranged from anxiety disorder, whether for treatment (18) or assessment (19) , vaccination (24)(25) , safety during nebulization (28) , ICU death (29) , physical exercise measure (33) , nutritional interventions and child growth (70) , prenatal and weight at birth (71) , among others. Another quite diversified example comes from psychiatry/mental health: medication treatments (15,18,20,76,80,89) , physical exercise (16) , cognitive therapy (17) , anxiety assessment instrument (19) , quality of life and food disorders (35) , psychological stress x hypertension (40) , family intervention in schizophrenia (50) etc.…”
