Usefulness of determining exhaled nitric oxide levels for the assessment of asthma severity in children

Abstract: Astma jest powszechnym, coraz częstszym schorzeniem, występującym zarówno u dzieci, jak i u dorosłych. Definiuje się ją jako przewlekłą chorobę zapalną, cechującą się nadreaktywnością i odwracalną obturacją oskrzeli. Rozpoznanie astmy u dzieci opiera się obecnie przede wszystkim na ocenie klinicznej i spirometrycznej, a także na ocenie odpowiedzi na zastosowane leczenie przeciwzapalne.
