“…The most potent fraction, the 100% MeOH eluate (0.30% from Zizyphi Semen), was purified by Sephadex LH-20, silica gel, reversed-phase gel, and reversed-phase HPLC to afford a new compound and nine known compounds. The known compounds were identified as betulinic acid (63.26 mg, 0.00316%), 15 betulin (20.08 mg, 0.00100%), 16 alphitolic acid (37.97 mg, 0.00190%), 14 pomolic acid (7.34 mg, 0.00037%), 17 pomolic acid 28-methyl ester (2.02 mg, 0.00010%), 18 pomonic acid (3.50 mg, 0.00018%), 13 ceanothic acid (21.33 mg, 0.00107%), 19 epiceanothic acid (1.73 mg, 0.00009%), 20 and ceanothic acid 28methyl ester (1.41 mg, 0.00007%) 21 on the basis of their NMR spectra. The new compound showed a molecular formula of C 31 H 48 O 5 as determined by HR FAB MS (m/z 499.3439 [M À H] À ; calcd for C 31 H 47 O 5 , 499.3423).…”
