Task-based teaching and learning is a boon approach in English classes nowadays to create a real practice for language use and provide a natural context for language study. This article exposes the use of task-based approach by incorporating environmental sustainability as content in translation practice. The tasks consist of three phases, pre-task, during-task, and post-task. Each phase is to enrich the student's experience in learning the novel terms along with the strategy for dealing with the difficult terms in the source text. The sample of the study is the students who participated in a translation course program from two universities. The total participants are 42 of 95 students who are available for this course session conducted in May 2022. Before pre-task, the students' preferences were collected to identify the students’ interest and expectations of the heading course. In during-task, students are asked to take notes based on their interests. After the pre-task, students presented their own experiences in completing the task. At the end of the course session, a questionnaire was given to investigate the advantage of the learning approach and students' experience in the translation course. It was observed that students use the target language to communicate with peers in doing assignments. The student's confidence, which is the key to acquiring a language, increased in using specific terms. Combination of task-based learning with appropriate content that is relevant to personal lives such as environmental sustainability increases the student's motivation to learn and benefit from the translation activity.

Translation is a career that can also offer benefits to the visually impaired. Visually impaired translators face the normal technical and non-technical challenges of translation - common for all translators. This means that the quality of the visually impaired translation is not an easy task, as certain categories can be compromised by accuracy. Case studies, which researched the accuracy of translations of two visually impaired students, who majored in translation studies, emphasized a need to improve their competence in translation. The analysis of two categories of translation tasks, from these case studies revealed two conclusions. Firstly, the two visually impaired students were able to accurately translate all non-academic texts. Secondly, however, when translating academic texts, the two students faced difficulties with the quality, as measured by the inaccuracies in these translations. The conclusions from these case studies are there are implications of needing to develop, and improve, the competence of translations by visually impaired students. Translation education must be able to maximize the competence and ability of visually impaired students based on their special characteristic.

Throughout history, translation has had a notable role in the spread of knowledge. Contrary to what is assumed, translation is not confined to just finding the equivalences of words. Translators are quite active in the translating process, and translation, as a multidimensional act, requires various skills and responsibilities. However, despite the fact that translation is a very old human activity, translation as a profession seems to require more time to gain the desired status, which is the focus of this study. This study aims to reveal prospective translators' perceptions about their future profession before they start working as professional translators, and it focuses on students' viewpoints about translation, translators, status of translators and the probable ways to enhance the status of translators. Hence, 23 second-year students enrolled in the Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies were included in this study. Data were collected qualitatively through reflection papers and open-ended question forms that aimed to elicit the participants' views regarding the definition of translation and suggestions about improving the status of translators. The findings indicate that translator trainees have different descriptions regarding translation, translators, and translation processes and think that translators have low-status. The study provides a number of suggestions of prospective translators to increase the status of the profession.
