In fostering the existence of culture and art in an area, conservation and development efforts are needed, one of which is the batik culture which has not developed much in the City of Tasikmalaya. Sukapura batik is one of the written batik from the city of Tasikmalaya that has existed since the 19th century. Sukapura batik has different characteristics from other Tasikmalaya batik, namely in terms of coloring, it is dominated by dark colors such as red, black, white, brown, and black. White. The purpose of this study is to examine and dig deeper into the existence of Sukapura batik in Tasikmalaya City about some of the efforts of batik craftsmen in preserving Sukapura batik. The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach. Through documentary studies on previous literature sources that discuss Sukapura batik in Tasikmalaya City. Data triangulation method through observation, interview, and document study. The results showed that the crisis in 1998 had an impact on the decline in the number of Sukapura batik craftsmen, the price of expensive raw materials for making batik cloth also affected the selling price of batik so that batik artisans in Sukapura turned to printed batik.

Keraton Cirebon Batik is one of three palaces in Cirebon including Keraton Kasepuhan, Keraton Kanoman, and Keraton Kacirebonan. At first, Keraton Cirebon Batik was grounded and developed merely around Keraton Cirebon. Development of this batik motif was much influenced by several cultures such as Hindu, Islam, China, and Europe. Therefore, this study was aimed to find out batik preservation program rooted in the keraton traditional batik and investigate the Cirebon traditional batik rooted from the keraton tradition batik either in the batiks that have been used in the national and international level. This study applied a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. The findings revealed that Keraton Cirebon Batik revitalization was done through a model revitalization which covers: Revitalization context; Reproductive Context; Innovation context; Integration context (Equality of Cultural Perception). Besides, revitalization was also done by creating alternative forms of visual decoration which can be a platform to integrate the cultural stakeholders of the Keraton Cirebon community. This program also functioned to express aesthetic values on Cirebon batik leading to a harmonious value system in the Keraton Cirebon.

Sasirangan is a traditional fabric typical of the Banjar tribal community and has now been developed into an industrial product in Banjarmasin. Sasirangan's business development shows a significant development and it becomes very essential to pay attention to how to maintain its business. This article aims to describe the business operations and distribution patterns in the Sasirangan clothing industry. The qualitative approach was used in this study coupled with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed that Sasirangan fabric products are produced by artisans who work individually or in groups and marketed by traders. Marketing of Sasirangan cloth products uses a direct distribution pattern to consumers, and indirectly uses a merchant intermediary who then resell them to consumers. The collaboration of Sasirangan artisan and traders can be further enhanced to develop a convection industry based on local culture. The findings of this study provide a further description of how local culture-based businesses require support from the government and other parties to maintain business sustainability.JEL Classification J24; M31; O14
