The influence of the gradient free energy on the movement of a flat interface

Abstract: The one-dimensional diffusion controlled growth of precipitates with a flat interface between precipitate and matrix is considered. Taking into account the gradient energy term and introducing it into the diffusion equation the following main results are obtained: 1.
