Abstract: Pregnancy-induced hypertension is characterised by an imbalance of arachidonic acid metabolites: Prostacyclin (PGI2) is vasodilatory and a potent inhibitor of platelet reactivity. Thromboxane (TXA2) induces vasoconstriction and platelet aggregation.
