Science learning requires direct experience in order to develop the ability to explore and understand the natural surroundings scientifically. So far in elementary school at Bukittinggi, the process of learning science only memorizes facts, principles or theories. In science learning, students are not involved in finding or applying their own ideas and they do not instill the values contained in the learning. The science learning process in classroom is not yet fully in accordance with the demands of the curriculum. The teacher provides more material in the textbook without relating it to students' daily problems that are in accordance with the material, thus causing less interesting in learning. The teacher also has not actively involved all students in learning and emphasizes learning only on students who are smarter. The purpose of this study was to increase the activity and learning outcomes of science learning by using a problem-based learning model in SDN 11 Aur Kuning Bukittinggi, West Sumatra. This classroom action research was conducted in 2 cycles with the research subjects of grade IV students with totalling 25 people. The research data were collected through observation and tests. The effectiveness of actions in each cycle from the results of observations and tests is described and then reflected to take corrective action in the next cycle. In science learning, students' learning activities were observed, namely: visual activities, oral activities, writing activities, motoric activities and emotional activities. The research findings show that the problem-based learning model can increase student activity and learning outcomes.

Permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam pembelajaran fisika di SMA Negeri 71 Jakarta adalah rendahnya kemampuan literasi sains siswa dan kurangnya pengetahuan siswa tentang konsep pemanasan global. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada konsep pemanasan global. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 71 Jakarta pada siswa kelas XI pada semester genap di tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Data kemampuan literasi sains siswa diperoleh dengan menggunakan tes uraian. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains siswa meningkat dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) pada konsep pemanasan global.

Anita Anggreani, The Effect of Project Based Learning (PBL) in Teaching Writing to the Second Grade of SMPN 1 Parepare, (Supervised by Mujahidah and Wahyu Hidayat.) Project Based Learning (PBL) is a learning model in which students work individually to produce a particular product that originates from the problems that surround it. The goal of this study is to describe how students learn English in class VIII.2 of SMPN 1 Parepare using Project Based Learning (PBL) strategy, as well as to determine whether students’ writing ability in learning English increases as a result of the Project Based Learning (PBL) strategy. This research is a classroom action research that attempts to improve students’ writing abilities in English learning through a Project Based Learning strategy. The subjects were 32 students from SMPN 1 Parepare class VIII.2 during the academic year 2021/2022. The research was split into two cycle. The information for this research was acquired thorugh an interview, an observation checklist, a questionnaire, and a test. The study’s fidings revealed that students’ English skills improved as evidenced by: a) the percentage of students steadily improved their scores at the conclusion of each cycle. The English lesson’s Minimum Mastery Criterion-Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) Score was 78 (Seventy Five). The students average pre-test score was 58,9. In the first cycle, the average score was 76,6. In the second cycle, the average score was 86,3. b) The students’ responses to the increased interest in learning English through a Project Based Learning (PBL) strategy are generally positive. The data showed a score of 94,3%, which means “Excellent”. c) through an observation checklist, students’ participation in students activities indicating that students’ participation steadily increased form the first to the second cycle.
