O contraste de sonoridade das plosivas representa uma complexa coordenação acústica e articulatória, muitas vezes prejudicada nos desvios fonológicos. Por esse motivo, acredita-se que esforços devem ser realizados no sentido de melhor entender os fatores que influenciam na estabilização desse contraste. Assim, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi correlacionar os dados de produção e o desempenho em um teste de discriminação do traço [+voz] em crianças com desvio fonológico. Para isso foram avaliados cinco meninos com desvio fonológico e dificuldade na produção das plosivas sonoras, entre outras dificuldades de fala. Por meio de pares de palavras inseridos em frase-veículo, observou-se a ocorrência de produção de Voice Onset Time positivo durante a produção de plosivas [+voz] e o padrão de duração das vogais adjacentes às plosivas surdas e sonoras. Elaborou-se um Teste de Discriminação de Sonoridade das Plosivas, a fim de se avaliar o desempenho dos sujeitos em relação à discriminação. O teste consiste de 12 pares de palavras, diferenciados apenas pelo contraste [+voz] e representados por figuras. Na análise descritiva, não se verificou uma relação direta entre dificuldade de produção do contraste de sonoridade das plosivas e discriminação auditiva desses segmentos, tanto na observação da produção de pré-sonoridade, quanto na observação da produção do padrão de duração das vogais. Mesmo assim, salienta-se que o emprego de uma avaliação de discriminação, bem como, de análise acústica nos casos de desvio fonológico, não devem ser desprezados pelos fonoaudiólogos, uma vez que esses instrumentos podem fornecer informações fundamentais para um bom progresso terapêutico.

Discriminação fonêmica e a relação com os demais níveis linguísticos em crianças com desenvolvimento fonológico típico e com desvio fonológico evolutivoABSTRACT Purpose: To compare children with typical language development (TLD) and evolutional phonological disorder (EPD) regarding the phonemic discrimination and the linguistic performance of language levels (morphological, syntactic, semantic, and perceptual and productive vocabulary). Methods: The sample comprised 36 children, aged between 5 years and 7 years and 11 months, with TLD and EPD. Children with EPD were awaiting care in the speech units of two higher education institutions and children with TLD were screened in public schools. For inclusion in the study, the criteria were the following: being authorized by the informed consent and being within the required age group. After the inclusion of children, all subjects underwent the phonemic discrimination test with figures, to the average phrase value test, which assesses the morphosyntactic and semantic/lexical aspects, and the expressive vocabulary test. For statistical evaluation of the influence of variables, Spearman's nonparametric correlation coefficient was used, and for comparison between the groups regarding evaluation performance, Mann-Whitney test was used. Results: Only children with EPD showed influence of phonemic discrimination in other linguistic levels. In addition, a significant difference was observed between the performances of both groups in relation to the phonemic discrimination, vocabulary, and all levels assessed in the questions and description modality. Conclusion: The comparison between both groups showed a statistically significant difference in phonemic discrimination and morphosyntactic and lexical/semantic development, with better performance in the TLD group. The process of school learning occurs in an evolutionary dynamism from the maturation of the upper cortical areas. They allow the acquisition of writing, reading, interpretation, argumentation, calculation and logical reasoning. Thus, many factors can interfer in this process negatively, generating learning disabilities. These interferences can be associated with; (1) primary intrinsic factors like the neurobiological alterations observed in the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD); (2) secondary intrinsic factor like the psicoemotional problem or cronic diseases; (3) extrinsic interferences such as unfavorable ambient. This work described interdisciplinary evaluations to diagnose learning disabilities in children to 6 from 10 years. All the students are at the same school. It was chosen just one place to homogenize the population sample. The tests were applied in the Behavioral Disorder Learning Ambulatory (BDLA) in the Clinical Hospital of the School of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto-University of São Paulo. Due to the complexity and the interdisciplinary question, different types of health and educational professionals (speech therapist, neuropsychologist, neuropsychologist, child psychiatrist, occupational therapist and educacionalist) participated in this study. It was made a sorting of 104 children based on their school performance, which was selected 56 (54%). However, just 27 students (48%) finished the evaluation. After the tests, all students presented at least one diagnosis associated with learning disabilities. The most important causes found: 15 students (55%) with anxiety symptoms, 13 (48%) with ADHD and 6 (22%) with Specific Learning Disorders. In some situations, this conditions occurred simultaneously. In this way, it was concluded that: the statistical analysis showed a good sensibility; the lower accession in this research showed that the parents didn't know about the importance of this investigation; the interdisciplinary approach were carefully and conclusive evaluation of various diagnoses and the most frequence of them were: anxiety symptoms followed by ADHD and Specific Learning Disorders.
