This study delves into bilingual instruction practices and their impact on students' participation patterns within a classroom environment. The research aims to understand how students engage during classes where bilingual instruction practices are employed. Qualitative research methods were used for the purpose of data collection and analysis in this study. The selection of participants was carried out through purposive sampling, focusing on the forty-six (46) students from Grade 11 Agarao at Laguna Senior High School at Sta. Cruz, Laguna. To gather the data, a video recording and observation of a one-hour class discussion were conducted. The findings were analyzed through the application of thematic analysis. The results reveal that code switching, encompassing extra-sentential, intra-sentential, and inter-sentential types, is a prevalent bilingual instruction practice used by teachers. Notably, intra-sentential code-switching was the most frequently utilized by the teacher. Additionally, the study identifies four distinct participation patterns: total integration, conditional participation, marginal interaction, and silent observation. The study found that a significant portion of Grade 11 Agarao students exhibited conditional participation and marginal interaction tendencies out of the total cohort of forty-six (46) students. Understanding these dynamics provides insights into how bilingual instruction influences students' involvement and contributions within the classroom. Base on the following findings, it is recommended for schools to include bilingual instruction in their school improvement plan and school development program. It is also recommended to add another research instrument, such as an audio recorder, to easily transcribe the data and yield better results.

The unavailability of the physics module containing local wisdom of South Kalimantan and can trace the character become the background of this research. Therefore, the researcher conducted research and development of physics module on subject vibration, waves, and sounds of madihin culture to train kayuh baimbai character. This study aimed to describe the feasibility of physics modules based on the validity, practicality, effectiveness, and achievement of kayuh baimbai. This study was a research and development used ADDIE model. Subjects tested for this research were class VIII-H MTsN 3 Banjarmasin intended for 32 people. Validation data are obtained from the module validation sheet, the practicality of the student response questionnaire, the effectiveness of the learning outcome test and the character achievement of the character assessment sheet. The result of the research showed that: (1) the validity of physics modules was categorized as valid, (2) the practicality of physics module was categorized as highly practical, (3) the effectiveness of the physics module was categorized as moderate, and (4) the achievement of kayuh baimbai characters was categorized as good. The conclusion is that the physics module based on madihin culture is feasible to use in learning.

Cognitive development that must be considered in kindergarten is the ability to count which includes the concepts of addition and subtraction. Abstract mathematical concepts are not always well received by kindergarten students. Therefore, to support optimal child development, appropriate stimulants are needed. Some kindergarten students experience still have difficulties in summing numbers abstractly. There are also those who have difficulty in the counting process, both outlining and adding up. In addition, there are also students who are less able to write the large number of objects into numerical symbols. Given the various difficulties that can be experienced by kindergarten students in learning the concepts of addition and subtraction, one way that can be used to introduce the concepts of addition and subtraction in kindergarten students is by using the Iceberg approach. Iceberg is known as an iceberg phenomenon. The process of forming icebergs in the sea always starts from the bottom beneath the surface of the sea and so on finally forms the tip of the iceberg that appears above sea level. The base of the iceberg is wider than its peak, thus the construction of the iceberg becomes sturdy and stable. Introducing a mathematical concept based on the Iceberg approach means that in the iceberg model there are four levels of activity, namely: 1) mathematical orientation of the environment, 2) Model of teaching aids, 3) making of foundations (Building stone), and 4) formal mathematics. With this step it is hoped that kindergarten students who are still in the pre-operational stage can more easily understand abstract mathematical concepts because the concept begins with the introduction of concrete objects around students. The purpose of this study is to developing mathematics activity books based on the Iceberg theory to introduce the concepts of addition and subtraction for kindergarten.
