“…Nitrogen adsorption–desorption measurements were carried out to investigate the textural properties of Fe 2 TiO 5 nanofibers. Mesoporous materials with a high specific surface area are of great interest because of their applications in catalysis, 64 photocatalysis, 65 electrochemical water splitting, 66 supercapacitors, 67 adsorption of heavy metals, 68 drug delivery, 69 etc. As shown in Fig.…”

“…The small diameter and a specific area of 114 m 2 g −1 of mesoporous cobalt silicate nanosheets can provide ample reactive spots where the electrochemical reaction take place and this can improve the mass transfer and attain good performance in electrochemical process. They were initially manufactured by the sacrificial template stÖber SiO 2 spheres [243]. The specific capacitance of Co 2 SiO 4 nano sheets is 638 F/g at 0.5 A/g current density and they exhibited 82 percentage capacitance stability after 10,000 cycles.…”

“…Recently, transition metal silicates (TMSs) used for energy conversion and storage have been entering our consideration and arousing widespread attention due to their great abundance, low cost, and brilliant electrochemical properties. For example, Mai et al prepared several TMSs and their composites for Li-ion batteries (LIBs). Jiang et al synthesized nickel–cobalt silicates showing high performance for the electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER). , Recent researchers have proved that TMSs-based materials have shown great potential as the electrode materials for SCs. For instance, Cheng and his co-workers prepared Co 2 SiO 4 -based materials using Co-based precursors, and they displayed enhanced electrochemical properties. Some TMSs-related materials originating from Stöber SiO 2 were also developed for SCs. Although the preparation and improvement of the electrochemical properties of TMSs for SCs have shown much progress, there are still some issues to be addressed: (1) Owing to their poor conductivity, the experimental capacitance achieved is less desirable than the theoretical value. (2) The study on the TMSs is mainly focused on Ni/Co/Mn silicates, but other silicates are rarely investigated .…”
