“…Anoa has a unique characteristic as compared to other Bovidae family members, in which anoa has a smaller size. The population of anoa in the wild continues to decline (Broto 2015). The main causes of anoa population decrease are due to poaching, conversions of forests into agricultural land, industrial areas and human habitats (Burton et al 2005).…”

“…Anoa has adapted perfectly to the geology, physics, climate, and landscape of the island of Sulawesi (Mustari, 2019). The typical vegetation that inhabits most of the forests on Sulawesi Island is very suitable for the life of anoa (Broto, 2015) and cannot be separated (Mustari, 2019), because it can reduce the intensity of sunlight (Aldiansyah, 2022) and maintain a macro-climate that is the habitat of anoa. Besides being influenced by the structure and geological conditions in the Pleistocene Period (Nugraha & Hall, 2018), the endemicity of this species is influenced by climate, soil, the shape of the earth's surface, and factors from other living things (Whitten & Henderson, 2012).…”

“…In addition to climatic and topographical factors, other factors that can affect the distribution of B. depressicornis species are the abundance of feed types, and the availability of habitat components needed by animals, such as vegetation types and water availability (Ranuntu & Mallombasang, 2015). evenly distributed throughout the anoa's original habitat which can minimize the possibility of competition between other mammals for food (Broto, 2015), as well as species breeding activities outside their natural habitat (ex-situ) carried out in captive breeding centers or conservation forest areas (Mayasari et al, 2018). Therefore, any area that has the above factors has the potential to become a distribution area for the B. depressicornis species on the island of Sulawesi.…”

“…In addition to that, 27 species of understorey plants existing in conservation forest of Mekongga Mountain, and 13 plant species with a total of 217 individuals are found in Solodong Forest. Meanwhile, 21 of plants with a total of 342 individuals found in the Leang Paniki Forest, located in Tamburase Village, Wawo Regency, Southeast Sulawesi [9].…”
