Social Networks, Exchange Rate Fluctuation, and Economic Growth: ARDL Approach

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the effects of social network propaganda on exchange rate and also exchange rate fluctuations on Iran economic growth. This study uses annual data to analyse the long-run and short-run relationship between variables for the period of 1993–2018. Data were collected from the Central Bank of Iran. The autoregressive distributive lag (ARDL) method proposed by Pesaran, Shin, and Smith (2001) was used. The results of long-run analysis show that a 1% increase in negative propaganda of … Show more

“…To the best of the authors’ knowledge, we have not been able to track previous applications of the ARDL method in studying availability or access-related parameters of food security. However, there are abundant examples of an effective utilization of the ARDL in revealing the interplays between domestic supply and imports [ 53 , 95 ], trade balances [ 53 , 96 , 97 ], inflation [ 98 , 99 ], international currency exchange [ 100 , 101 ], and health [ 102 ]. where Δ = first difference operator; = constant term; = short-run elasticities of the variables; i = ARDL model lag order; = error correction term; = error disturbance; t = time.…”

“…The main research hypothesis was tested using the panel data approach (Al-Homaidi et al 2020) initiated by doing the unit root test for stationary. To ensure the use of the panel method, a likelihood ratio test (LRT) was used (Ebrahimi et al 2019).…”
