Síntese enzimática de butirato de isoamila empregando lipases microbianas comerciais

Abstract: Recebido em 28/5/08; aceito em 21/5/09; publicado na web em 10/11/09 ENZYMATIC SYNTHESIS ISOAMYL BUTYRATE EMPLOYING COMMERCIAL MICROBIAL LIPASES. Isoamyl butyrate production was investigated using free and immobilized lipases by esterification of butyric acid with isoamyl alcohol in a solventfree system and in an organic media. Among the enzymes studied, Lipozyme TL IM was found to be the most active catalyst in n-hexane as a solvent. The effects of different solvents and the amount of water added on conversio… Show more

“…In previous study, Aragão et al, 11 tested different solvents, such as acetone, chloroform, toluene, hexane and heptanes, which have logP values of -0.23, 2, 2.5, 3.5 and 4.0, respectively. The organic solvents, n-hexane and n-heptane, with similar chemical nature presented similar results, reaching a conversion of 80.1 and 84.5% at 48 h, respectively.…”

“…The fatty acid residues and catalyst can be removed by an alkaline treatment which further increases the environmental impact by generating a certain load of nonbiodegradable waste besides having a high energy production cost. 2 Industrial interest in clean technologies is increasing, especially in engineering of proteins and enzymology. The use of lipases in industry allows for the development of technological processes that are very close to the efficient processes executed in nature due to the versatility of applications and ease of large-scale production.…”
