“…As a result, oxidative stress associated with most abiotic stresses is reduced. In addition, the synthesis of genes and proteins involved in water transport and translocation, changes in the cell wall structure, cytoskeleton, and cell division are accelerated [24]. In this regard, some studies have shown that priming may involve heritable epigenetic changes [25] This plant's innate defense system is induced by several inorganic or organic molecules and various biological stimulants to protect plants from the resulting stress.…”

“…It is a beneficial technique for modifying seed quality through specific germinative metabolic processes, which involve osmotic adjustments, membrane reorganization and restructure, and retarding of electrolyte seepage (Mansour et al, 2019;Srivastava et al, 2021). It also helps in DNA replication responses, antioxidant function, more ATP availability, and encouraged protein biosynthesis, restoring cellular bio-membranes, and improving antioxidant enzymes (Chen and Arora, 2013;Hussain et al, 2015;Hussain et al, 2019;Mansour et al, 2019;Sen and Puthur, 2020). Anaytullah 2007 stated that the seed priming process strengthens the biochemical status of plants by inducing the activity of hydrolyses (e.g., amylase) and levels of sugars in germination whereas the enzyme (nitrate reductase) and nitrogen content in seedlings under normal conditions concerning unprimed seeds.…”

“…In addition to priming on the whole plant level, memory and cross-stress tolerance, the priming of seeds is also pivotal in managing stressful conditions. Seed priming is a treatment applied before sowing during seed imbibition (Sen and Puthur 2020 ). Seed imbibition involves three stages of seed development: rapid water uptake, saturation of water uptake, and water uptake together with the onset of cell division and growth.…”
