However, further studies are needed to elucidate the full potential of Si treatment, as variations in solubility and Si content could reveal differences in Si absorption by plants and trigger defence mechanisms, as well as differential responses of the nematode and plant.…”

“…In annual crops, it is impossible to apply products with potential resistance inducer prior to nematode infection, which is already present in the soil at the time of germination. However, such products can decrease the feeding sites in subsequent life cycles, thereby decreasing the final nematode population (Silva et al 2004;Puerari et al 2013Puerari et al , 2015. However, further studies are needed to elucidate the full potential of Si treatment, as variations in solubility and Si content could reveal differences in Si absorption by plants and trigger defence mechanisms, as well as differential responses of the nematode and plant.…”

“…The GF427 isolate was more efficient when it was used in association with Ecolife ™ and AgroMos ™ , whereas the GF422 isolate was efficient in association with Ecolife ™ , only. Ecolife ™ is a product composed of citrus biomass and it can promote the production of phytoalexins (Motoyama, Schwan, Stangarlin, Fiori‐Tutida, & Scapim, ), whose efficiency in nematode control has been proven in other studies (Puerari et al., ), including in the handling of P. brachyurus (Puerari et al., ). AgroMos ™ , in turn, has not been investigated for nematode control; however, it showed promising results in the control of some fungi through resistance induction (Costa et al., ).…”

“…These microorganisms show different biochemical routes but similar phenotypic results. In addition, both the SAR and the ISR activators show promising potential for nematode control (Puerari, Dias‐Arieira, Cardoso, Hernandes, & Brito, ; Puerari et al., ; Sahebani & Hadavi, ).…”
