Objetivou-se identificar as experiências construídas pelas pessoas com úlcera venosa, no processo de conviver com esta condição crônica. Pesquisa qualitativa realizada entre janeiro e fevereiro de 2013. Utilizou-se a entrevistada semiestruturada na qual participaram 14 pessoas com úlcera venosa, atendidas em ambulatório de angiologia de um município do interior do Rio Grande do Sul. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo. As três categorias submetidas à análise foram: Úlcera venosa e a sua repercussão no trabalho; Mudanças na rotina e limitações no viver com a úlcera venosa; e Conviver com a úlcera venosa e a necessidade de cuidado profissional e familiar. Conclui-se que a pessoa com úlcera venosa pode apresentar propensão a desenvolver problemas que colocam em risco a sua saúde física e emocional e que necessita de atenção integral dos profissionais da saúde.

RESUMO ABSTRACTWe performed a descriptive, exploratory, and qualitative study, to identify changes in the daily life of subjects with hepatitis. The data were collected in October 2011 from 12 patients with hepatitis B and/or C, through semi-structured interview, and subjected to thematic content analysis. The majority of the subjects were diagnosed with hepatitis B. The time of diagnosis ranged from less than 6 months to 12 years, and the diagnosis was made mainly through blood donation. Only two patients were taking interferon. The results were divided into two categories that describe feelings and reactions experienced by the interviewees, as well as some lifestyle changes. It was concluded that health professionals need to be aware of the complexity of phenomena concerning the illness process and life with hepatitis. DESCRIPTORS RESUMENEstudio descriptivo, exploratorio, de abordaje cualitativo, desarrollado con el objetivo de identificar las alteraciones en el cotidiano del individuo con hepatitis. Los datos fueron recolectados en octubre de 2011 en 12 pacientes con Hepatitis B y/o C, por medio de entrevistas semiestructuradas y luego, sometidos al análisis del contenido de tipo temático. La mayoría de los individuos tenía el diagnóstico de hepatitis B. El tiempo de diagnóstico varió de menos de 6 meses hasta 12 años, y la principal forma de diagnóstico fue a través de la donación de sangre. Solamente dos de los individuos estaban usando Interferón. Los relatos dieron origen a dos categorías relacionadas con los sentimientos y reacciones vividas por los entrevistados así como alteraciones en algunos hábitos de vida. Se concluye que es necesario que los profesionales de la salud contemplen con mayor cuidado la complejidad que involucra los fenómenos concernientes al proceso de la enfermedad y la convivencia con la hepatitis. The chronic venous leg ulcer is the major therapeutic problem of lower limb injuries, which can trigger changes in the daily life of the person affected by it. This study aimed to understand the daily life of men who lives with chronic venous ulcers. A phenomenological study was conducted with eight men, who were interviewed during June and July of 2012. The study asked questions related to: "Restrictions in social life" and "Recovering the skin integrity and restart the activities affected by the wound". The answers revealed that men with these ulcers have social implications in the areas of productivity and sexuality. This leads to restrictions in everyday life with loss in performance of socially established roles for men, leading to anxiety for his return at full performance of his social role. The findings suggest significant experiential aspects that may guide professionals in the planning and implementation of health actions aimed to treat these patients.Descriptors: Varicose ulcer.
