The purpose of the article is to develop a methodology which assesses the level of digitalization of HR management, to identify the reasons for the gap between the actual achieved level and the desired one, and to justify management decisions related to the introduction of digital technologies. The methodology involves diagnostics of the level of digitization of HR-management in three aspects: digital competence of personnel, digital workplace, digital management system. A combined method has been proposed for the diagnosis of staff digital competences: self-diagnostic and manager's assessment on a single scale, followed by a comparison of the results. A coefficient method is proposed for estimating a digital workplace and a digital control system. The resulting conclusion on the level of digitization of an organization’s HR management is based on the benchmarking method. The implementation of measures to increase the level of digitalization of HR management, adopted on the basis of the conducted diagnostics, will allow the organization to maintain and to increase its competitive advantages by developing the necessary professional qualities of employees, the best organization of personnel management in the conditions of digitalization.

This article attempts to answer the following questions: What key competences and skills should characterise managers in the information technology (IT) sector; is there a skills' gap, that is, a discrepancy between the desired and actual skills of IT managers; and what activities can contribute to minimising the identified skills' gap? Design/Methodology/Approach: Answering the above-mentioned research questions required reviewing the literature on the subject and conducting research. The research covered 504 managers representing all levels of management in IT companies operating in Poland. The collected data were subjected to statistical analysis, based on which conclusions were drawn. Findings: It has been found that the smallest skills' gap includes: using technological solutions efficiently, cooperating with others, disposing of the knowledge possessed and drawing conclusions based on one's own mistakes. The greatest skills' gap occurs in the areas of obtaining funds from outside an enterprise, making accurate assessments of the emotions occurring in a team, and making accurate personnel decisions as well as correcting mistakes, synthetic thinking and managing finances properly. Practical Implications: The presented results on the skills' gap is part of a wider research project aimed at identifying and assessing the levels of the key competences of managers employed in IT companies. In order to minimise the identified skills' gap, specific actions were recommended to be taken to improve these skills. Originality/Value: The value of the conducted research procedure is the identification of key skills of tactical and operational level managers of IT companies and their arrangement due to the size of the gap between the actual and desired state. Actions to improve key managerial skills were also identified. These activities may help increase the effectiveness and competitiveness of Polish IT companies.

The importance of adopting technology innovations, mainly in food production contributing to food safety, is significant. This study aims to analyze the diffusion of agricultural production technologies in Brazil, mainly the use of wheel tractors, grain and sugarcane harvesters by producers. A quantitative approach is used to understand the market-level factors that influence the adoption of technologies. A supply response is estimated based on the Bass diffusion model. Data were collected from the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea), which includes Brazilian monthly sales information for wheel tractors, grain and sugarcane harvesters. For each agricultural machine, 700 months of sales records were collected. The imitator’s coefficients were higher than innovators for all types of machines studied. The data showed that, for wheel tractors and grain harvesters, the diffusion curve presented S format (S-curves). However, sugarcane harvesters had a different pattern of diffusion. The distribution of the investigated technologies in Brazil was an imitation process; the market saturation was observed for wheel tractors and grain harvesters. This study helps to comprehend the supply response of agricultural machinery and presents suggestions for the diffusion of agricultural production technologies in Brazil. The experience has shown that several factors can constrain technology adoption, such as lack of credit, limited access to information and inputs, and inadequate infrastructure.
