Abstract: The relationship of serum zinc with serum concentrations of lipids and apolipoproteins was investigated in 464 male clerical workers aged 35-59 y. Subjects were divided into three groups, by drinking habits. Serum triglycerides, apolipoprotein (apo) A-I, and apo A-II in occasional (2-5 times/wk) and regular (> or = 6 times/wk) drinkers were higher than in non- or seldom (< 1 time/wk) drinkers, whereas serum zinc, total cholesterol (TC), and apo B were not different among groups.
