El cambio en las últimas cuatro décadas ha derivado de un periódico hecho manualmente en maquetación y composición tipográfica a un relato informativo online con textos noticiosos creados por máquinas preparadas para imitar mediante algoritmos el modo de estructurar y escribir las noticias y sustituir al periodista. El periodismo artificial está cada vez más presente en los medios, lo que comienza a abrir debates deontológicos, laborales y sociales. Metodología: Se realiza un estudio bibliográfico para identificar y sintetizarlos principales informes y estudios sobre automatización en periodismo. También se realiza un análisis comparativo de noticias deportivas redactadas por algoritmos y noticias elaboradas por periodistas humanos. Resultados: Se refieren casos del impacto de automatización en medios de referencia, se identifican patrones narrativos de noticias generadas por ordenador Conclusiones: Se perfilan tendencias de futuro asociadas a los cambios derivadas de la progresiva implantación de la inteligencia artificial en los medios y en sus relaciones con las audiencias.

Introduction: This article offers a comprehensive state-of-the-art review of journalistic innovation, summarising the approaches that structure such research, defining the main concepts and proposing new avenues for research. Methods: To achieve these objectives, the article examines the main areas of scientific research developed around the tensions and research objects within the system, based on descriptive approaches. The study also involves the review of the agendas of the International Journalism Festival, held in Perugia since 2006, to identify the bridges between the traditional journalism industry, technological operators and university centres. Results and conclusions: The research responds to the need for a journalism degree programme that is adapted to the digital society and the transformation of the profession, undergraduate studies and journalism research, that requires its own agenda, an adequate research language and evidence of collaboration between the journalism industry and the university. El denominado periodismo computacional está adquiriendo una importancia cada vez mayor en los medios de comunicación. Su irrupción supone la aparición de numerosos dilemas éticos. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es determinar si el contenido de los códigos deontológicos de la profesión sirve como referencia válida. En concreto, el análisis se centra en América Latina. Se realiza un análisis de contenido de 18 códigos. Para ello se sigue una ficha metodológica creada a partir del trabajo de Dörr y Hollnbuchner (2017). Los resultados muestran una gran presencia de principios como el respecto por la privacidad, la adecuación a las normas legales, la objetividad o la autoría de los datos y los resultados. Por el contrario, un principio muy importante en el periodismo computacional como es el control y comprobación del software y de las técnicas empleadas no aparece reflejado en ninguno de los códigos. Se concluye que la antigüedad del código no es un factor determinante, salvo en algún caso como El Salvador.
