Perfil evolutivo da fluência da fala de falantes do português brasileiro

Abstract: the development of the neurolinguistic system for speech fluency, in terms of speech disruptions, seems to stabilize itself during the first years of life, presenting no alterations during the life span. Indexes of speech rate present variations in the age groups, indicating patterns of acquisition, development, stabilization and degeneration.

“…This trend could be explained by the relationship between speech disfluency and age of the children (5 to 6 years old). Indeed, the children in the study have high age considering language development, confirming that the occurrence of hesitation tends to broadly stable throughout the child development (1,3,5) . The tendency of nonoccurrence of hesitations in the beginning of utterances in children may also be due to the familiarity of the children with the issues brought up at the time of the interviews (which were previously worked in the educational workshops organized one week before the interviews) because fluency may depend also on the child's ability to understand the morphosyntactic structure of the utterances (5) .…”

“…In a first set of studies, the focus lies on how the aspects of fluency and/or disfluency of speech indicate what is considered as normal or pathological in language acquisition. Therefore, in this research, both the disfluencies considered common to all speakers and the ones seen as more typical of individuals diagnosed with stuttering were analyzed (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7) . In a second set of studies, the analysis of hesitations is in the context of relationships between subjectivity and stuttering.…”

“…However, the data on this similar distribution of disfluencies in the group of people who stutter, differ from the findings on the disfluency in fluent people, because adults who are fluent speakers of Brazilian Portuguese have shown that there is a greater quantity of other disfluencies, in relation to the stuttering-like disfluencies 20 . The data therefore suggest that the fluency profile of stutterers distinguishes from the profile of fluent people, on the distribution among other disfluencies and the stuttering-like disfluencies.…”

“…The class that showed lower risk for the disorder was the class of female relatives of probands, descendant from female probands (0.032). The male/female ratio showed the highest prevalence of stuttering for males ( Table 2) that adults who stutter demonstrated increased value of frequency for total disfluencies, in relation to fluent (confidence interval in the studied age, ranged was from 8.32% to 9%) 20 . However, this number was relatively close (10.77%) in the results of this investigation.…”

“…Each patient was assessed individually by a speech-hearing language specialist. All commands were given aloud at speech rates considered normal for residents of the city of São Paulo (20) , intensity of 60-70dB sound pressure level (SPL) or about 50dB hearing level (HL) and constant prosody when delivering commands.…”
