Hypertension is one of the most common conditions in the world, and if it is not treated promptly, it can create not only physical but also psychological issues. Anxiety is a psychological issue that can exacerbate hypertension symptoms. In people with hypertension, foot massage reflexology is a non-pharmacological therapy. The purpose of this study was to see if foot massage reflexology may help patients with hypertension lower their blood pressure and anxiety. The research design used was a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with a control group. The sample consisted of 56 respondents, who were separated into two groups, with 28 respondents in the intervention group and 28 respondents in the control group. The HARS questionnaire was used to collect the data on anxiety levels, and a digital sphygmomanometer was used to assess blood pressure. The results of this study indicated that there was a decrease in systolic blood pressure of 24.54 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of 9.75 mmHg, and a decrease in the anxiety score of 8.94 in the intervention group. The results of the ANCOVA statistical test suggested that there was a significant impact. This study concludes that giving foot massage therapy can significantly reduce systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and anxiety.

“…Tinjauan literatur terdahulu menunjukkan bahwa beberapa studi meneliti tentang efek pijat kaki yang kebanyakan berfokus untuk menurunkan kecemasan (Amaludin et al, 2020). Berkenaan dengan pentingnya pengelolaan kelelahan yang dirasakan pasien setelah hemodialisis, maka dari itu penulis melakukan studi literatur mengenai efektivitas pijat kaki untuk menurunkan kelelahan pada pasien hemodialisis.…”
Background: Hemodialysis can cause various problems, both physical and psychological. One of the physical problems is fatigue, about 71.0%-92.2% of patients undergoing dialysis are exhausted. One therapy to overcome fatigue is foot massage therapy. Purpose: This literature aims to identify the effectiveness of foot massage on the reduction of fatigue in hemodialysis patients. Review: This is a literature study that uses the Pubmed, ProQuest, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar databases (with keywords and article criteria defined by the author). The results of the literature found 4 papers were discussing the effect of foot massage on the reduction of fatigue in hemodialysis patients. Foot massage can improve blood circulation and stimulate the production of endorphins, reducing fatigue, relieving tension, and increasing comfort in hemodialysis patients. Conclusion: The four papers show that foot massage was effective on reducing fatigue in hemodialysis patients
