“…There is more research summarized in Table . The optimum microwave output powers of 200, 300, 400, 500, 540, 553, and 800 W and the microwave irradiation times of 1.5, 4, 10, , 15, , and 28 min have been reported in MWODS. The ratio of the dielectric loss to the dielectric constant is named the loss tangent factor.…”

“…The desulfurization degree within 1.5 min under microwave irradiation power of 500 W using H 2 O 2 and H 2 O 2 /H 2 SO 4 as oxidants was 86.67% and 99.1%, respectively. Ferella et al 98 studied the sulfur removal in the presence of molybdenum catalyst, H 2 O 2 oxidant, and ILs as extractants with and without MW irradiation. Utilizing ODS alone, the elimination of sulfur from the model diesel (2700 ppm S) reached 100% after 6 h, whereas using MWODS it took only 2 h in the cases of [BMIM]BF 4 and [OMIM]BF 4 and even 1 h when using [BMIM]OTf.…”

“…56,58 The intermittent low reactivity of 4,6-DMDBT may be attributed to steric hindrance caused by methyl group which is considered the main obstruction for the catalysts to approach the sulfur atom. 59 Likewise, the reactivity can also be greatly influenced by the simultaneous effect of electron density on the S atom in the process. 52 The lower reactivity of BT here may be due to the lower electron density on the sulfur atom whereas DBT exhibited the maximum activity.…”

“…Specifically, some of us have reported on cis-dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes based on oxygen donor ligands, using 1-butyl-3methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([BMIM]PF 6 ) [17], or polyethylene glycol (PEG)based deep eutectic solvents (DES) as extraction solvents, and more recently, bipyridine ligands with different substituents and using different extraction solvents (acetonitrile, [BMIM][PF 6 ] and PEG based DES) [19]. Ferella et al also investigated the activity of several binuclear cis-dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes bearing different α-aminoacids ligands, in the presence of imidazolium-based ionic liquids [25]. All the referenced complexes proved to be stable and efficient for ECODS of simulated and real diesel with H 2 O 2 as oxidant [16][17][18][19][20][21]26].…”
