Academic identity is significant in terms of taking the responsibilities of professional roles and performing them adequately. Identity formation starts from the early socialisation experiences of graduate students and develops on what they have acquired during this process. Therefore, Academic Training Program is significant for determining the academic identity of future academics. A review of the literature reveals a lack of research that evaluates Academic Training Program (ÖYP), especially from existing faculty's point of view, with an identity development perspective. This study aims to investigate the Academic Training Program (ÖYP) in the light of academics' definition of the characteristics of academic profession, with a focus on professional socialisation and identity development. This qualitative, collective instrumental case study was conducted with 24 academics selected through the maximum variation sampling method from two typical Turkish universities. The content analysis of data revealed that the Academic Training Program (ÖYP) has some adverse effects on the professional development of recruits since the program is not fully compatible with the requirements of academic profession.

Özetİnsan kaynakları yönetimi açısından oldukça önemli olan personel seçimi, işin yapılabilmesi için işe uygun personelin belirlendiği bir süreç olarak ifade edilir. Personel seçimi, genellikle bir grup karar verici tarafından adayların çeşitli kriterlere ve sübjektif yargılara göre değerlendirilmesi sonucunda verilen karara göre gerçekleşir. Hâlbuki organizasyonların rekabet avantajı elde edebilmeleri ve bu avantajı devam ettirebilmeleri, doğru personelin doğru iş için objektif kriterlere göre seçilmesine bağlıdır. Personel seçimi problemi, karar verici ve aday sayısının birden fazla olması ve karar üzerinde çok sayıda kriterin etkili olması açısından çok kriterli karar problemleri içerisinde yer alır. Kişisel yargılara dayanan kararlar belirsizlik içerir. Bu nedenle, bu çalışmada çok kriterli karar verme tekniklerinden biri olan bulanık TOPSIS yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında bir kamu üniversitesinde araştırma görevlisi alımı sürecinde, başvuru yapan adaylardan hangilerinin giriş sınavına davet edileceği, her bir aday için yakınlık katsayıları hesaplanarak yapılan sıralama ile objektif kriterlere göre belirlenmiştir. Personnel selection, often occurs as a result of decisions made by a group decision based on the evaluation of candidates by various criteria and subjective judgment transmitter. Whereas the organization that they can gain competitive advantage and this advantage can continue, according to the right personnel for the right job it depends on the objective criteria chosen. Personnel selection problems, decision-making and be more than the number of candidates and the terms of a number of criteria involved in the decision to take effect on multi-criteria decision problems.

Bu araştırmada eğitim fakültesi öğretim elemanlarının araştırma görevliliğine yönelik algılarının metaforlar aracılığıyla ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Nitel bir araştırma olan bu çalışmanın katılımcılarını Doğu Anadolu bölgesinde bir devlet üniversitesinin eğitim fakültesinden araştırmaya gönüllü katılan 55 öğretim elemanı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri "Sizce araştırma görevlisi kimdir?" ve "Araştırma görevlisini ...'ya benzetiyorum. Çünkü…" biçimindeki iki açık uçlu soru yardımıyla toplanmıştır. Veriler içerik analizi tekniği ile analiz ediliştir. Öğretim elemanlarınca üretilen 40 farklı, geçerli metafor, araştırmada "Gelişmekte / olgunlaşmakta olan (24)", "Her boşluğu doldurabilen / her işi yapabilen (8)", "Ezilen / kullanılan (7)", "itaat eden (3)", "Akademinin önemli / vazgeçilmez üyesi olan (3)", "Uyum sağlayan(3)","Değeri anlaşılmayan / bilinmeyen / önemsenmeyen (3)" ve "Aydınlatan / yol gösteren (2)" olmak üzere 8 temada sınıflandırılarak sunulmuştur.Araştırma sonuçları araştırma görevlisinin daha çok gelişen, olgunlaşan, bu süreçte karınca gibi çok çalışan, mücadele eden, çırak gibi hocasından öğrenerek gelişen bir akademisyen adayı; aynı zamanda her boşluğu doldurabilen, her işi yapabilen bir joker elemanı; ezilen, kullanılan bir hamal, bir köle olarak algılanmaktadır.
