The paper deals with the management of product information in a cosmetics retail and information interaction of a retailer with distributors and manufacturers. We developed a list of requirements for the types of information for a product catalogue. Using a survey and questionnaire of employees of the retailer, we determined what information the departments needed. We made sure that one standard to the structure of information did not exist and proposed our own scheme. Based on the survey results, we created a list of requirements for the information management system and proposed a scheme of system components. We conducted a comparative analysis of the costs of the company (about 2000 employees) for the salary of employees involved in entering information before and after the implementation of our system. For evaluation of the effectiveness of the integration of the developed system, we defined the cost indicators: PP, NPV and IRR.

The complexity of information flow and cooperation among enterprises operating in a supply chain is growing. This process has a significant impact on the economy and the objective is that both traditional and new ICT (Information and Communication Technology) solutions meet the pressing needs for more efficient business processes. The current paper focuses on enterprises belonging to the food supply chain and analyses some indicators supporting the information flow within the company and with partners (being either a partner enterprise or the final consumer). Our Institute has prepared a survey to examine the ICT usage and attitude by enterprises operating in the agri-food sector. The importance of business processes supportable by ICT had to be assessed by companies. In this study we evaluated the importance of some ICT indicators supporting information flow in the chain. The main objective of the current article is to determine the difference between food enterprises divided by different grouping factors regarding their evaluation of the chosen indicators. In our opinion, competitive advantage may be reached using ICT solutions for widening and maintaining relations through a more effective information flow with partners and consumers.

People are getting more and more used to consume a digital, online content. Many outlets switched to online publication or at least increased their online presence. Besides, online publication is not the only domain of publishing houses. Many different organisations and companies-including those from area of agriculture and rural development-provide online content in form of articles. Importance of semantic web is growing constantly. Together with metadata descriptions, it is necessary for all the current search engines, smart assistants and AI technologies. Public standards and open source software can significantly speed up development and reduce costs when it comes to the Internet and World Wide Web. The paper provides overview of an updated methodology for creation, storage and presentation of online information content in World Wide Web environment. The latest research was focused mainly on presentation and semantics. The whole research process is established as well as the final formulation of the methodology.
