Morphofunctional characteristics of single combats athletes as factors of success

Abstract: Background and Study Aim.  The aim of the article is a comparative analysis of the morphofunctional characteristics of athletes of various types of martial arts as factors of success. Material and Methods. The study participated students involved in martial arts (n = 29; age - 17.53 ± 0.15 years). The first group (group 1 - wrestlers) included judo, sambo, wrestling athletes (n = 12, age - 18.58 ± 0.38 years). The second group (group 2 - athletes of percussion martial arts) included athletes of karate, t… Show more

“…Unsurprisingly, skill and years of trainings are connected with the survey respondents' ages. Additionally, it might be predicted that martial arts students' HGS and weight are related, which is congruent with the data in the literature [8,11,31,[54][55][56]. The same holds true for HGS and age [51,57].…”

“…Post-hoc analyses also failed to divide the participants into martial-art-related groups despite the fact that differences were described in other studies [31,37,55]. In the current situation, PCA analysis using martial arts as a grouping variable is more illuminating.…”

“…The problem of determining a single complex of mechanisms for optimizing training regimes of loads in Mixed Martial Arts and effective ways of correcting their main indicators, taking into account the peculiarities of the physiological processes of adaptation, individual functional capabilities of athletes, is one of the priority issues not only of trainers, high-level professional fighters, but also of scientists [2,8,14,16,21]. Determining the most optimal parameters of the intensity of power load regimes at the stage of specialized basic training in MMA is one of the main directions of this problem [3,8,10] because it will allow to maximize the functional capabilities of athletes in the shortest possible time.…”

“…Introduction 1 Modern aspects of improving the mechanisms of training in hand-to-hand combat and other martial arts aimed at achieving maximum results in the shortest possible time. Such an approach demand from scientists and coaches to find effective ways to optimize the training system [1,2,3,4].…”
