Six countries, namely Qatar, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, UAE and Turkey (abbreviated as QISMUT) are considered to play an important role in the future international development of the Islamic finance. QISMUT countries have a majority Muslim population who prefers Islamic finance for their banking needs. QISMUT countries account for 38 million customers which is 67% of the global Islamic bank customer base. The focus of this study is to define similar (or different) international banks using the financial data collected from Islamic banks operating in QISMUT countries between 2012 and 2014. In this context, 56 Islamic banks were categorized in the light of their financial ratios for the period between 2012 and 2014 using cluster analysis. There was also an attempt to identify these clusters using multidimensional scaling analysis. Positions of QISMUT Islamic banks in the multidimensional space were defined using multidimensional scaling analysis. Results showed that Islamic banks operating in QISMUT countries are similar in terms of their financial structure.

O Exame Nacional do Ensino Médioé o segundo maior exame em larga escala do mundo. No Brasil, o desempenho dos alunos nessa provaé o critério de seleção para cursos em instituições de ensino superior públicas e privadas. A associação entre o desempenho dos estudantes e seu nível socioeconômico nos exames de larga escalaé um fator conhecido desde o final da década de 60 por pesquisadores do campo educacional. Com isso, se fazem necessárias pesquisas que busquem encontrar alternativas para minimizar essa associação. Este trabalho apresenta, portanto, uma pesquisa que objetivou analisar as questões de Física do ENEM e encontrar exemplos de itens menos associados com o nível socioeconômico. A utilização de questões com esse perfil na prova do ENEM pode tornar essa seleção mais justa socialmente, afinal, os estudantes não seriam apenas selecionados pelo acúmulo de bens, mas por proficiência em determinadaárea do conhecimento. Para isso, foi realizada uma Análise Fatorial de Informação Completa (AFIC) do questionário a fim de melhor definir o nível socioeconômico dos alunos participantes do exame. Esse nível socioeconômico foi dividido em sete grupos diferentes que se formaram a partir de uma composição bivariada de capitais econômico e cultural institucionalizado (uma das dimensões do capital cultural bourdieusiano). Em seguida, foram obtidas as médias de acertos nos itens de Física em cada um dos níveis de capital. Os itens com menor variabilidade de proporção de acertos entre os grupos são os que menos se associam com variáveis de contexto. Neste artigo foram identificados e analisados itens com essas características nas provas do ENEM de 2009, 2012 e 2015. Palavras-chave: ENEM, desigualdade, socioeconômico, exame de larga escala, Física.The National High School Exam is the second largest large-scale exam in the world. In Brazil, the students' performance in the test is the main selection criteria to access higher education. The association between student performance and socioeconomic status in large-scale exams has been investigated by researchers in the education field since the late 1960s. To overcome this influence, researchers need find new alternatives. Therefore, this work presents a research that aims to analyze physics questions in ENEM in order to find examples less associated with context variables. The use of questions with low association with socioeconomic status in the ENEM can lead this assessment to be more socially fair, after all, it would select students mostly by proficiency in a certain area of knowledge and not by socioeconomic status. For this, in order to better define the socioeconomic level of the students participating in the exam, we carried out a Full-Information Factor Analysis (FIFA) on the socioeconomic questionnaire. Abstract. Complex systems experience dramatic changes in behavior and can undergo transitions from functional to dysfunctional states. An unstable system is prone to dysfunctional collective cascades that result from self-reinforcing behaviors within the system. Because many human and technological civilian and military systems today are complex systems, understanding their susceptibility to collective failure is a critical problem. Understanding vulnerability in complex systems requires an approach that characterizes the coupled behaviors at multiple scales of cascading failures. We used neuromorphic methods, which are modeled on the pattern-recognition circuitry of the brain and can find patterns in high-dimensional data at multiple scales, to develop a procedure for identifying the vulnerabilities of complex systems. This procedure was tested on microdynamic Internet2 network data. The result was a generic pipeline for identifying extreme events in high dimensional datasets.
