“…The variation of lattice constants with the composition is found to obey Vegard's law. The parameters are also consistent with the literature reported values (Udawatte et al 2000). Although SrSnO 3 could be refined as a pseudocubic unit cell, high resolution X-ray diffraction indicates that it crystallizes in orthorhombic structure (Zhang et al 2007).…”

“…Peroxide method involving peroxo precursor requires high calcination temperature of 1000°C (Pfaff 1993). Presence of carbonates has been reported even at a calcination temperature of 1000°C during the synthesis of SrSnO 3 and BaSnO 3 by polymeric complex method (Udawatte et al 2000). In hydrothermal synthesis of these stannates (Buscaglia et al 2003;Lu and Schmidt 2005) at low temperature, the product contains OH -ions in lattice even at a calcination temperature of 1200°C.…”

“…The results presented show that chitosan templated synthesis of pseudo-stable Sr-Fe-O systems is possible. The polymeric precursor method is characterized by the formation of a high amount of organic material, favoring the formation of carbonates, mainly when alkaline-earth elements are present [49][50]. Thus, the interaction between these carbonaceous species and orthoferrites or their transient phases, can lead to a mixture of Sr-Fe-O stable phases, with control of size of particles during the thermal treatment.…”

“…1. The CA and EG were mixed in a molar ratio of 1:4 [15,16] and then Bi(NO 3 ) 3 xH 2 O and Mg(NO 3 ) 2 ·6H 2 O and Nb solution prepared by dissolving Nb(OCH 3 ) 5 in hydrogen peroxide were added to this solution. The solution containing metal ions was stirred at 80 • C so as to promote the solubility.…”
