“…Além disso, o desmatamento e a queima de biomassa, também contribuem para o aumento das quantidades do Hg natural, liberado através dos processos de erosão e lixiviação de solos, elevando, assim, as concentrações deste metal na atmosfera e nos sistemas aquáticos, e, consequentemente, aumentando sua biodisponibilidade no ecossistema (Roulet et al, 1998;Roulet et al, 1999) Os alquilomercuriais são compostos de especial interesse em saúde, pela sua fácil penetração através das membranas celulares, eficiência na bioacumulação e eliminação demorada dos tecidos.
