Background: Degenerative disease is a decreasing organ function; clinical manifestations can affect the whole body, which is caused by oxidative stress. Ginger, bangle, and lemon have antioxidant properties. The combination of the three is expected to increase antioxidant activity. Objective: This study aimed to determine the potential antioxidant activity of the mixture of the three samples formulated as instant powder. Methods: This research is an experimental laboratory. This study will examine the effect of variations in extract concentration and PEG-40 HCO concentration on instant powder's characteristics and antioxidant activity. Results: Individually, ginger extract has extreme antioxidant activity (IC50 = 23.57 ± 0.13 µg/mL) and bangle strong (IC50 = 64.89 ± 0.15 µg/mL), while lemon has weak antioxidant activity (IC50 >500 µg/mL). Combining ginger, bangle, and lemon with a simplex axial method obtained the combination of ginger: bangle: lemon with the ratio of 4/6: 1/6: 1/6. Adding a mixture of extracts affects the solubility and antioxidant activity of the extracts. The greater the amount of extract, the lower the solubility, and the antioxidant activity did not increase with addition. The addition of PEG-40 HCO increases the solubility of the extract in the instant powder. Antioxidant activity increased to the “medium” category (121.90 µg/mL) after adding PEG-40 HCO at a concentration of 2.70%. The unfavourable impact of PEG-40 HCO addition on instant powders is the angle of repose, flow time, and compressibility. Conclusion: The ginger, bangle, and lemon can be combined and made into instant powder with potential antioxidant activity in the moderate category.

Euphorbiaceae family plants are spread in Indonesia and empirically, have been used for a long time as medicine. This article review aims to discuss the pharmacological activities of several plants from the Euphorbiaceae family. This research was conducted by conducting a literature review limited to research in the form of scientific articles. The scientific article in question results from research reviewed and published in Indonesian and English. The steps in the search are divided into several stages, starting from identification, screening, eligibility, and data grouping. The articles used in this article review were obtained by searching the internet from online data search media/search engines such as Google/Google Scholar and journal provider sites such as PubMed, NCBI, and SINTA with the keywords "Euphorbiaceae plants," "Ethnopharmacology, "Ethnobotany and Ethnopharmacy," "Plant Activity and Effectiveness," "Euphorbiaceae family activity," and "Pharmacological activity of Euphorbiaceae. After determining the keywords, the next step is filtering multiple data or duplications and filtering the article's title, abstract, and keywords so that data can be determined to be used or not for the following review.This study is a literature review based on several national or international scientific articles about the pharmacological activity of Euphorbiaceae plants. The literature study found that some plants from the Euphorbiaceae family have pharmacological activities, and the most dominant are antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. Moreover, many other activities include analgesic, antipyretic, antithrombotic, anti-hypercholesterolemia, antihyperglycemic, antihistamine, diuretic, and antiseptic.

Limpasu (Baccaurea lanceolata) is a native plant of Borneo which is used empirically to protect the skin from sun exposure. Limpasu contains flavonoid compounds which generally act as antioxidants. This study aims to determine the total flavonoid content of limpasu pericarp extract by using UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. Limpasu pericarp was extracted by using the stratification maceration method. This extraction was carried out by immersing the simplicia into three types of solvents with different polarities, respectively, namely n-hexane (nonpolar), ethyl acetate (semi-polar), and methanol (polar). The concentration of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts was determined using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a maximum wavelength of 510 nm with quercetin as standard. Based on the test, it was found that the total flavonoid content of pericarp extracts, hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol, respectively, was 44.1552 g/ml; 155.8506 g/ml; and 25.8506 g/ml. The highest total flavonoid content was found in the ethyl acetate extract.
