Post-stroke patients experience in various disturbances including physical, psychological and spiritual aspect. Post-stroke patients in the rehabilitation phase focus more on physical needs while the unfulfilled spiritual needs can reduce the patient's health condition. Therefore, it takes action to meet the spiritual needs of patients. This study was conducted to identify the spiritual needs among post-stroke patients.The descriptive quantitative was used among post-stroke patients in Neurological Polyclinic and stroke center in one of the Hospital in Bandung in 2017. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling with 83 samples included post-stroke patients who have full awareness and didnot experience of aphasia. The instrument of this study used Spiritual Needs Questionnaire (SpNQ) which consists of 4 dimensions including religious, peace, self-existence, and dimension of the giving needs. SpNQ had a validity coefficient of 0.73 and r 0.75. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution. The results showed that the most of respondents feel the spiritual need in all dimensions. In the religious dimension, the majority of respondents desired to pray with others, to move closer to God and participate in various religious activities (98.8%). In the dimension of peace showed the most of respondents desired to be more cherished by others (96.4%). The most perceived item of respondents were forgiving someone from the past in the dimension of self-existence (98.8%) and a solace for others in the dimension of the giving needs (98.8%). The conclusion from this study was most respondents feel the spiritual needs in all dimensions. Based on these results, nurses are expected to provide advice to people around the patients to invite them in various religious activities. Nurses supposed more expressing affection to them and involving the patients in some family activities.

Background: Stroke generally results in life-altering changes, and the significance of stroke knowledge and health anxiety has become a global priority. Aim: This study aims to determine the level of stroke knowledge and health anxiety among stroke patients in the rehabilitation clinic at the University Malaya Medical Centre and to determine the association of stroke knowledge and health anxiety with socio-demographic data. Methods: This study employed cross-sectional surveys conducted using a convenience sampling technique. The data was gathered from April to October 2021, and approximately 150 stroke patients were required to respond to a set of validated questionnaires (the Stroke Knowledge Test and the Health Anxiety). The data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The finding shows that on average, the age of respondents was 51 years (SD=13.12), and the majority of them were male (n=83, 55.3%), married (n=130, 86.7%), had a secondary level of education (n=81, 54.0%) and categorized under B40 (n=89, 59.3%). Most of them reported having good stroke knowledge (n=103, 68.7%), and experienced anxiety (mean=29.96, SD=8.72). There was no association between stroke knowledge and sociodemographic data (p > 0.05). For the health anxiety, age, marital status, and education level were found to be associated with the anxiety (p<0.05). Those who aged less than 30 years experienced more anxiety as compared to the seniors' group (r=-0.607, p<0.001). Furthermore, married respondents showed lower levels of anxiety than single respondents [t(148) = 0.266, p = 0.009]. Patients who had a high level of education were more anxious than those who had a primary level of education [F(2,147) = 16.03, p<0.001]. Conclusion: The organizations should provide ongoing awareness and psychological support to promote the patients and their family members. Nurses, who spend the most time with patients, are expected to reinforce the stroke education program and communicate with the patient's family to minimize their anxiety level.

Objectives: Aim of our study is to determine the relation of age of stroke onset, gender, type of stroke, site of lesion and medical comorbidities such as diabetes and hypertension with HAM-A scores in PSA. Materials and Methods: Present study was a hospital based cross sectional study conducted over 2 months that included 61 patients from neurology OPD of IMS and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar. Purposive sampling was done. The patients fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria were first assessed using a semi structured proforma in order to obtain the socio-demographic data. Based on the clinical findings and using ICD 10-DCR criteria the 61 patients with CVA were segregated as stroke with anxiety disorder and without anxiety disorder. HAM-A and HAM-D scales were applied on both the groups. MRI findings were obtained. Results: There was significant difference on HAM-A (F=0.031, p=0.000) and HAM-D scores (F=4.453, p=0.039) between the two groups with PSA patients showing higher mean value as compared to non-anxiety stroke patients. There was no significant difference with respect to type of stroke (χ2=2.566; p=0.109), hemispherical involvement (χ2=2.621; p=0.270) and medical co-morbidities i.e. hypertension and type 2 DM between the two groups. There was no significant difference in the mean HAM-A scores across the two hemispheres (p= 0.384), types of stroke (p=0.605), and medical co-morbidities [hypertension (p=0.204); type 2 DM (p=0.965)] among PSA patients. Conclusion: In PSA patients the higher mean value of HAM-D in comparison to stroke patients without anxiety suggests that anxiety disorder in stroke survivors may be a predictor of impending depressive disorder. Age, gender, type of stroke and site of lesion do not show any correlation with PSA in our study in contrast to other studies which can be attributed to the sample size of this study.
