Show more

“…The genetic interpretation (including dominance relationships) of six terpene loci /3-pinene, 3-carene, myrcene, limonene, longifolene and caryophyllene) has been studied previously (Baradat et al, 1972Marpeau et aL, 1975;MarpeauBezard et a!., 1983;Baradat & Marpeau-Bezard, 1988). Seeds were collected from the same 60 adult trees and bulked in a single seed-lot from which random samples were taken for the other analyses.…”

“…The same conclusions were drawn for /?-pinene and myrcene in Pinus pinaster Ait. (Baradat et al, 1972(Baradat et al, , 1975) and 3-carene in Pinus monticola Dougl. (Hanover, 1966) and Scots pine (Hiltunen etal., 1975).…”

“…Terpene composition and yield are under strong genetic control: heritability values are high (Hanover 1966 a for Pinus monticola; Squillace 1971 for P. elliottii; Fady 1990 for Abies cephalonica) and simple modes of inheritance have been revealed for several of them (Hanover 1966b for P. monticola; Baradat et al 1972Baradat et al , 1975Marpeau et al 1975Marpeau et al , 1983 for P. pinaster).…”
