Le lac Tritonis et les noms anciens du chott el Jérid

Abstract: Bien avant d'être au centre du débat suscité au siècle dernier par le projet de Mer intérieure saharienne, le problème de la localisation libyenne du lac Tritonis (ou Tritônitis) avait partagé les auteurs anciens eux-mêmes. Associé le plus souvent à la légende des Argonautes ou au culte d'une déesse indigène assimilée à Pallas, la baie ou le lac du Triton semblait appartenir à une géographie mythique plus qu'à la réalité.
