Technological developments change the point of view in learning. Learning space is not limited to conventional classrooms in schools. With technology, there is an opportunity to expand the learning environment through the development of mo-bile learning. This research design is the basic development of mobile learning in higher education. The purpose is to produce prototypes of online learning materi-als in physical geography courses. The test results are limited to one class show-ing positive responses from prospective users. Flexibility and ease of access make them able to learn according to the time they want. However, the limitations of this research are only limited to certain science courses, and it needs further development for social science courses.

This study is to analyze the editorial text teaching materials used by teachers in schools. In addition, to determine the ability of students in compiling editorial texts. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were 5 teachers as experts and users of teaching materials in textbooks. There were 98 students as respondents to find out the ability to write editorial texts and the benefits of using textbooks as a learning guide. Based on the results of the study, it was explained that 80% of teachers use textbooks in each lesson because they greatly help students' understanding. The use of reading texts in textbooks 60% of teachers said they were less contextual or in accordance with the needs of students. The order of the percentage of input from the teacher towards editorial text teaching materials in the textbook is 80% in the presentation, 80% of the content of the material, 60% of the reading text, 40% of the design and 20% of the mechanical elements. The results of the research from students stated that editorial text teaching materials helped student learning. The presentation of teaching materials from textbooks greatly affects students' understanding and ability to write editorial texts. From the results of the students' editorial text writing, 20% were able to compose it well, 30% of students could compile a text only needed to be guided first by the teacher, and 50% of students had not been able to compile an editorial text because they were confused with the chosen idea and the development of the writing.

This study is an analysis of sentence structure by using a syntactic approach that portrayed in the tree diagram. This study focused only on the discussion covering the identification of types of sentence and sentence structure. It was found that there are 191 sentences from the six selected text in the textbook consisting of the simple sentence which has 53 sentences (27,75%), the compound sentence has 79 sentences (41,36%), the complex sentence has 33 sentences (17,27% ) and the compound-complex sentence has 26 sentences (13,61%) from the total number of the data. The finding of the analysis shows that the English textbook has all types of sentences, based on both several clauses and their syntactic properties. A drawing tree diagram is a fundamental skill in the study of syntactic structure; it is a common practice to provide a visual representation of the internal structure of phrase and clause. Tree diagrams are a clear way of representing syntactic structure graphically.
