This study aims to examine the directive speech acts and moral value education discovered in the dialogue of the Rentang Kisah novel by employing a descriptive qualitative method. The novel serves as the subject of study, while the objects are the directive speech acts and the moral value education contained in the dialogue. The sentences within the dialogue function as the data source for this study. The data collecting approach involved listening and note-taking. The extralinguistic equivalent approach was applied to analyze the data. Dialogue analysis of the Rentang Kisah book by Gita Savitri revealed five distinct types of directive speech acts in three fields. There were three forms of command speech acts, two in health and one in education. Three distinct forms of speech acts of invitation were discovered, one in health and two in the religious sector. There were ten request speech acts, six in health, two in education, and the rest were in religion. There were nine speech acts of advice, five in education, one in health, and three others in the field of religion. Regarding critical speech acts, 32 forms were discovered, 16 in education, three in health, and 13 in the religious field. These data indicate that the novel has 57 directive speech acts. Moreover, both good and bad moral value education was also acquired. The good values included caring for parents, surrendering to God, working hard, loving, and believing in God. Conversely, the negative values covered badmouthing parents and stubbornness.

Novel is a literary work that describes the socio-cultural life and values of life in society. The aims of this study are: 1.) To describe the socio-historical of the author, 2.) To describe the influence of events in the novel on society based on social aspects, 3.) To describe the reader's response to the contents of the novel, 4. ) To describe the value of character education in the novel, 5.) Describing the relevance of novels in learning literature in high school. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative with a sociology of literature approach. The results obtained in this study are: 1.) The King Eternal Monarch 1 novel was born from a writer who tends to always choose the romance genre that is packaged with fantasy, social and cultural fiction. 2.) Readers of The King Eternal Monarch 1 novel tend to like this novel because of its strong character packaging and unpredictable plot. 3.) The King Eternal Monarch 1 novel can have a good influence on society through emerging social aspects including, Religious Aspects, Political Aspects, Leadership Aspects and Economic Aspects. 4.) The King Eternal Monarch 1 novel contains character education values according to the statement of the Ministry of National Education (2010) including honesty, religious, discipline, hard work and independence. 5.) The implementation of social values and character education is appropriate and relevant to be used as literature teaching materials in high school.

Gender cannot be separated from masculinity and femininity. Masculinity which is a symbol of masculinity and leads to men is certainly interesting to study because the masculinity that exists in each individual is certainly different. Masculinity can also occur in literary works as documents containing experiences, stories, and life, which are described by fiction characters as plays in the storyline. This study aims to (1) describe the forms of masculinity and (2) explain the factors that cause masculinity in the main character in Tere Liye's Selamat Datang novel. Assessed by using a qualitative descriptive method. Data source of this research is the novel and the research data is in the form of story unit, sentences or paragraphs related to masculinity. Data collection was carried out by reading the noveland references obtained through relevant journals and books. Analysis of research data was carried out by classifying the data, categorizing the data and finding important issues related to the representation of masculinity. The results of this study are the discovery of forms of representation of masculinity in the characters, namely (1) Competitive, (2) Independent, (3) Easy to make decisions, (4) Believe in their own abilities, (5) Able to take risks. Sedangkan faktor penyebab maskulinitas Sintong adalah (1) faktor budaya, (2) faktor sosial, dan (3) faktor pribadi. Dengan itu, novel ini dapat menjadi sumber bacaan untuk mengetahui representasi maskulinitas yang terjadi dalam novel tersebut.
