The study aims to investigate whether there is an influence of Edmodo apps in flipped classroom learning on the students' creative thinking ability in the course of Indonesian Language and Literature Study. This study is quasy experimental research that was held at the fourth semester students in Class A and Class B of primary teacher education in Universitas PGRI Madiun, Indonesia. Class A is as the experimental class and class B is as the control class. The population is chosen using cluster random sampling technique. This study uses instruments of creative thinking ability test. Techniques in collecting data are observations, documentations, and tests. The instrument is validated using content validation. The normality test uses Lilliefors model because the data is single data. The homogeneity test uses Chi Square formula. Hypothesis is tested using t-test. Based on the result of test decision and observations, it can be concluded that the use of Edmodo apps in flipped classroom learning gives better influence to the students' creative thinking ability in the course of Indonesian Language and Literature Study.
This study aimed to describe seven indicators of students' verbal linguistic intelligence in reading subject. It used a qualitative research method. The subjects of this study were 30 students consisted of 9 male and 21 female students. They took the reading subject in the second semester of the first year. They were given a test of verbal-linguistic intelligence. Seven students were selected to be interviewed because they have verbal-linguistic intelligence and good communication. To find out the validity of the data, the researchers used triangulation of the test results and the results of interviews and triangulation of the second researcher and research assistants. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the content analysis method which consisted of three steps, they were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of the study show that there were se ven indicators of verbal-linguistic intelligence of students in reading subject, first, having excellent initial knowledge in mentioning words, second, enjoying wordplay with Scrabble, third, entertaining themselves and other students by playing tongue twisters, fourth, explaining the meaning of the words written and discussed, fifth, having difficulties in mathematics lesson, sixth, their conversation refers to something they have read and heard, and the last, having the ability to write poetry based on personal experience.
This article aims to describe the implementation of the flipped classroom method using Screencast-O-Matic apps in the teaching of Indonesian language reading skills and the impact this method has on the learning process. This qualitative research was conducted at one of the private institutes in Bojonegoro, Indonesia, and the researcher acted as the observer. The data were obtained through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, and were analysed using Creswell’s thematic analysis, which involves six stages of analysing and intrepreting. Then, the data were validated using triangulations of theory and source. The results of this research show that Screencast-O-Matic apps contribute to the successful implementation of the flipped classroom method. The combination of the teaching method and the media creates innovation in teaching reading skills in the Indonesian language. In the teaching and learning process, the teacher acts as the facilitator, resulting in some good impacts for the students: 1) the students are motivated by the video study materials, 2) the students are able to enjoy their leisure time, 3) the students are pleased with the teaching and learning process and are able to answer questions quickly, 4) the students appreciate each other’s opinions, and 5) the students have more comprehensive knowledge of the Indonesian language reading skills materials.
This paper aims to evaluate the students' ability to solve syntactic problems through creative thinking, when they are engaged in Search, Solve, Create and Share (SSCS) learning, using schoology apps. For this purpose, several fourth-semester students were selected as subjects of an essay test, a structured interview and an observation. The test reveals their metacognitive awareness in solving syntax problems, the interview reflects their errors and causes of such errors, and the observation shows their conditions in SSCS learning using schoology apps. The data validity was checked through triangulation of data sources. The results show that the students, who are good at solving syntax problems in schoology apps through creative thinking, have high level of metacognitive awareness, and are able to make reflective use and strategic use of metacognitive awareness.
