The changing perception towards leadership reveals that different leadership types are felt to be needed to deal with different problems that modern organizations face. Even though there is lots of research which focuses on the effects of different leadership types on organizations’ performance, there is no research to be found which only focuses on employees’ perceptions. Therefore, this paper aimed to figure out the most important leadership characteristic for employees and their choice of leaders to work with. In order to reach these goals, a two-sectioned survey was given to eight hospitality employees in the Sultanahmet Region. Since the evaluations of the employees are subjective, the answers were analyzed with the Fuzzy TOPSIS method by transfiguring the verbal assessments of the participants into numbers to ease the decision-making process. With regard to the results, the most important leadership characteristics discovered were: being a guide to the followers, being capable of creating mission and vision, and encouraging the followers. According to employees’ leader choices, the results showed that the hospitality employees in the Sultanahmet region mostly want to work with Transformational Leaders. Considering the implementation and the results, this paper is important as a pioneering study, which will fill the gap in the literature about investigating employees’ leadership preferences and choices.

This study aims to identify the common and distinct factors affecting the dis/satisfaction of employees in two different industries, namely tourism and sports, and develop a model in the end. The study was carried out by using the qualitative method. A total of 118 employees working both in five-star hotels and sports centers participated in the study. Common factors affecting the employee satisfaction were thematized as the fellow employees, nature of job, relationship with superiors, salary, working hours, career opportunities, and job security. The factors affecting the dissatisfaction were thematized as the low salary, ineffective management, job insecurity, and inconsiderate mates. In the context of satisfaction in tourism, the theme of “extra opportunities” differs from sports. In the context of dissatisfaction with sports, the theme of “lack of career opportunities” differs from tourism. Study findings present valuable implications for the two industries in a desire to increase the performance and productivity of their businesses. The study conveys its originality by identifying the employee dis/satisfaction factors both in tourism and sports industries.

The purpose of this study is to research and examine the relationship between leadership styles and job satisfaction of employees in the food industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a quantitative research study, the survey method is used with a developed questionnaire for the primary data collection. The questionnaire is adopted from valid sources, contributing to leadership and job satisfaction worldwide. Using the convenience sampling method, 210 valid responses are obtained and analyzed using the Software Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Transformational and transactional leadership styles contribute to employees' job satisfaction in food industry companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The results showed that contingent reward contributes to job satisfaction when it comes to transactional leadership style, while idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration contribute to job satisfaction when the transformational leadership style is practiced. This research can be applied in any company, with particular benefits for human resource management. The practical implications of this research indicate that the answers to the questions asked fully supported the assumption of the importance of choosing leadership style as the company's essence. The findings of this research contribute to the overall image and information on the relationship between leadership styles and job satisfaction. This study also lays the groundwork and serves as a starting point for future research and examining the relationship between leadership styles and job satisfaction. This study's data is useful for Bosnia and Herzegovina's food industry, as there has previously been no data recorded.
